An adjustable arm rest and console assembly is disclosed wherein the angular attitude or pitch, as well as the height, of the arm rest portion of the assembly are adjustable independently of one another in order to maximize user comfort. The mechanism for adjusting the angular attitude of the arm rest portion of the assembly, and for holding the arm rest portion in a preselected pivotally adjusted position, preferably includes a ratchet sub-assembly and a trip element for allowing selective incremental pivotal movement of the arm rest portion and for selectively releasing the ratchet sub-assembly, respectively. The mechanism for maintaining an adjusted height position includes a plurality of openings in one of a fixed or a movable support portion for the arm rest structure, with each of the openings corresponding to a preselected height position and being adapted for receiving a holding member movable into or out of such openings in order to maintain or release the arm rest structure and allow adjustment to a preselected elevational position.

Adjustable arm rest and console assembly

An adjustable arm rest for a vehicle in which the arm rest is supported for both vertical and angular adjustment by means of rack and pawl mechanisms. Adjustment is achieved by moving the arm rest upwardly in increments to selected positions. The arm rest can be returned to its initial lower position by first moving the arm rest to its full upper position after which it is free to return to its lowest position by way of release elements which permit or prevent operation of the rack and pawl mechanism.

Adjustable arm rest

A power adjustable arm rest assembly is disclosed wherein the angular altitude or pitch, as well as the vertical height, of a movable arm rest portion are adjustable independently of one another in order to maximize user comfort. The mechanisms for independently adjusting the angular and vertical positions include powered actuating devices near either end of the movable arm rest portion that are connected to a fixed mounting member in order to accommodate angular adjustment. The actuating devices further include extendible and retractable armature members pivotally interconnected to the movable arm rest portion and are energizable and deenergizable in order to respectively urge the movable arm rest portion to, or hold the movable arm rest portion in, preselected adjusted positions.

Powered adjustable arm rest

A two position control valve having a body member with a control surface and a slide member incorporating a seal supported by the body member for sliding movement relative to the control surface and forming a control chamber placing selected ones of a plurality of control ports in communication with each other.

Two position control valve

A temperature responsive time delay valve in which free flow of fluid is afforded above a predetermined temperature level and in which a delayed fluid flow is achieved in one direction and free fluid flow in the opposite direction below the predetermined temperature level. The temperature responsive valve portion incorporates a bimetal disc which is supported at its outer periphery by O-rings to provide a resilient mounting and a fluid seal requiring passage of fluid through a central aperture in the disc.
