A method for producing moldings, in particular briquettes, from fine-grained to medium-grained mixed material using organic binders. In a first stage, the mixed material is heated to a temperature necessary for the molding operation. In a second, atmospherically separate stage, mixing of the mixed material with binder is performed, as well as downstream steps of the process. The method allows hazardous emissions to be avoided.

At least one oxygen nozzle has a single gas supply and introduces at least two gas streams. Using plural gas streams from a nozzle reduces the risk of fluidization of the solid bed because the number of gas raceways in materials in the gasifier is increased.

Method for the production and the melting of liquid pig iron or of liquid steel intermediate products in a melt-down gasifier

In a process for reducing iron-ore-containing particulate material in at least a two-stage process, reducing gas is conducted through at least two reaction zones consecutively arranged in series and formed by a moving particulate material and the particulate material passes through the reaction zones in reverse order to the reducing gas, with the particulate material being heated in the reaction zone arranged first for the particulate material and being reduced in the further reaction zone. In order to achieve a maximum preheating temperature without any formation of magnetite, the reducing gas added to the first reaction zone is conditioned such that no or hardly any reduction takes place, although for the particulate material a preheating temperature within the fringe range of starting a reduction is achieved, whereby either the degree of oxidation of the reducing gas is increased or the temperature of the reducing gas is decreased or both measures are carried out jointly and whereby, in the reactor zone arranged second for the iron ore, a temperature level of at least about 600&#xb0; C., preferably in the range of between 600 and 700&#xb0; C., in particular of between 620 and 660&#xb0; C., is adjusted and the iron-oxide-containing material is reduced to wuestite ().

Method for reducing a particulate material containing a metal, especially iron ore

The invention relates to an apparatus and a process for distributing a lumpy bulk material, in particular iron ore which has been at least partially prereduced, onto an extensive surface, in particular onto a fixed bed, this surface extending within a reactor or vessel used in physical or chemical process technology, in particular in a reactor used in a metallurgical plant to produce pig iron or primary steel products, and the lumpy bulk material being charged via at least one charging apparatus, which has at least two, in particular rotationally symmetrical, chutes, which are preferably arranged at the same distance from the vertical longitudinal axis of the reactor. In this arrangement, at least a proportion of the bulk material, in particular after it has been introduced into the chute, before it comes into contact with the extensive surface, is distributed in the radial and/or tangential direction&#x2014;as seen from above&#x2014;at a scattering device which is assigned to at least one of the chutes and is preferably in the chute.

Method and installation for the indirect reduction of particulate oxide-containing ores

The invention relates to a process for producing pig iron or liquid primary steel products in a blast furnace, CObeing substantially removed from at least a partial stream of a top gas emerging from a reduction shaft furnace (), and this partial stream if appropriate being heated and being introduced into the blast furnace as reduction gas, and to a plant for carrying out this process, the top gas being introduced into the lower region of the blast-furnace shaft. This measure results in an improved energy balance and improved process management compared to the prior art.

Method and device for producing pig iron or liquid steel pre-products from charge materials containing iron ore

In a process for the direct reduction of particulate iron-oxide-containing material by fluidization, a synthesis gas is introduced as a reducing gas into several fluidized bed zones consecutively arranged in series. The reducing gas is conducted from one fluidized bed zone to another fluidized bed zone in counterflow to a flow of particulate iron-oxide containing material through the fluidized bed zones. In order to reduce operating costs and, in particular, the energy demand, various process parameters are varied according to the temperature of the iron-oxide-containing material in the first fluidized bed zone being adjusted to be below 400&deg; C. (and, preferably, below 350&deg; C.), above 580&deg; C. (and preferably about 650&deg; C.), or to a temperature within the range of from 400&deg; C. to 580&deg; C. If the temperature of the iron-oxide-containing material in the first fluidized bed zone is maintained to be below 400&deg; C., the temperature of the iron-oxide-containing material in the following fluidized bed zone is passed through the temperature range between 400&deg; C. and 580&deg; C. within a period of 10 minutes and, preferably, within 5 minutes. If the temperature of the iron-oxide-containing material in the first fluidized bed zone is adjusted to a temperature above 580&deg; C., the temperature range of between 400&deg; C. and 580&deg; C. in the first fluidized bed zone is passed through within a maximum period of time of 10 minutes and, preferably, 5 minutes. If the temperature of the iron-oxide-containing material in the first fluidized bed zone is adjusted to be within the range of from 400&deg; C. to 580&deg; C., the iron-oxide-containing material remains in the first fluidized bed zone within that temperature range for a maximum of 10 minutes and, preferably, 5 minutes, and the material is then passed on into the following fluidized bed zone immediately after having reached the desired temperature.

The operation of the pulverized-fuel burners ( ) is in this case controlled in such a way that the combustion of the carbon fraction of the carbon carriers in fine particle form takes place in a proportion of at least 40% to form CO .

Method for producing liquid pig iron

The invention relates to a shaft furnace, in particular a direct-reduction shaft furnace, with a charge composed of particulate material, in particular a particulate material containing iron oxide and/or sponge iron, the said material being capable of being fed into the shaft furnace from above, and with, arranged in one plane, a multiplicity of gas-inlet orifices for a reduction gas in the region of the lower third of the shaft furnace, the shaft contour having a diametral widening and a cavity being formed between the gas-inlet orifices and the charge. The shaft furnace according to the invention makes it possible to supply gas to the shaft furnace so as to be distributed uniformly over its circumference.

In a method for producing a hot CO- and H -containing reducing gas serving for the reduction of fine-grained metal ore, in particular iron ore, the reducing gas is formed in a gasification zone by a gasification of carbon carriers, in particular coal, taking place under the supply of oxygen and subsequently is cooled down to a reducing-gas temperature favorable to the reduction process. In order to produce a thermodynamically more stable reducing gas, the reducing gas by the addition of H O and/or CO &mdash;in order to prevent the Boudouard and heterogeneous water-gas reaction and a resultant heating of the reducing gas&mdash;is converted to a reducing gas that is thermodynamically more stable at the reducing-gas temperature.

If the temperature of the iron-oxide-containing material in the first fluidized bed zone is adjusted to be in the range of from 400&deg; C. to 580&deg; C., the iron-oxide-containing material remains within that temperature range for a maximum of 10 minutes and, preferably, 5 minutes, and the material is passed on into the following fluidized bed zone immediately after having reached the desired temperature.

Process and plant for the direct reduction of particulate iron-oxide-containing material

In a method of charging metal carriers which contain a portion of fines and are at least partially reduced and carbon carriers to a melter gasifier (,) in which a melt-down gasifying zone (,) is maintained, the metal carriers and the carbon carriers are fed into the melter gasifier (,) above the level of the melt-down gasifying zone (,) and descend to the melt-down gasifying zone (,) and travel through the same forming a metal melt and producing a reducing gas by coal gasification.
