A method of decellularizing a tissue includes disposing the tissue within a device, the device. The device includes a container, first and second electrodes disposed within the container and defining a space between the first and second electrodes to receive the tissue, a perfusion pump, and a conduit connected to the perfusion pump to transport a decellularization composition from the pump into the tissue. The method further includes disposing the decellularization composition within the container to surround the tissue and contact the first and second electrodes, applying an electric potential across the first and second electrodes, and perfusing the decullarization composition into the tissue.

System and method for electrophoretic decellularization

Traditional and existing methods of cervical ripening employ a Foley Bulb designed for and typically used in bladder procedures. Consequently, the application to the cervix is sub-optimal. The described device resolves this and related limitations. The device includes a balloon that has been designed to accommodate the cervix geometry, and which can adapt to normal differences in the individual. Further improvements are attained by the use of a supporting device which couples the cervix ripening device to the individual.

In one embodiment, a preservation apparatus is described that includes a storage compartment. The storage compartment is configured to hold an organ or tissue and a preservation fluid. A cover assembly is configured to engage the storage compartment. The cover assembly includes a support element, wherein the support element together with the storage compartment define a storage chamber. The cover assembly also includes a lid and a gas permeable membrane disposed between the lid and the support element. The gas permeable membrane and the support element together define a perfusion chamber configured to hold preservation fluid and an organ or tissue during use.

Fluidics based pulsatile perfusion preservation device and method

A method and apparatus is provided for long-term extracorporeal preservation of living tissue. A living tissue preservation device including a gas permeable membrane and perfusate allows oxygenation of the living tissue. The gas permeable membrane allows gas from a cyclically pumped source to permeate and expand the membrane, simultaneously oxygenating the perfusate and pumping the oxygen-enriched perfusate through the living tissue. Simply constructed of a few basic components into a single integrated container, the living tissue preservation device is capable of operating in many physical orientations, and requires no electrical power for operation. Also provided is a portable cold storage unit that is capable of receiving a living tissue preservation device and maintaining the tissue in the device at a substantially constant temperature of 4.degree. C..+-.1.degree. C. for at least 24 hours. Finally, a method of preserving extracorporeal living tissue incorporating the living tissue preservation device and cold storage unit is provided.

The present invention relates to a device for measuring anterior fontanelle pressure. A particular embodiment of this device comprises a rigid housing having an opening at its base end adapted for engaging a cranium and an aperture adapted to receive means for sensing pressure. The device may also include a flexible membrane disposed over the opening and adapted for engaging an anterior fontanelle. In this embodiment, the housing and membrane cooperate to define a cavity adapted to receive a fluid.

Method and apparatus for detecting leaks in a rubber glove or the like. The wearer of rubber gloves connects a clip to his ear and places each glove-covered hand individually into electrolyte liquid in an electrically conductive receptacle. A circuit including a buzzer or beeper sounds if there is a leak in the glove. The circuit includes a clip connected to the wearer's ear as well as the beeper, the electrolyte, a battery and the receptacle. An alternative embodiment includes a removable disposable electrically non-conductive receptacle for the electrolyte liquid with the circuit including an electrical conductor cemented to the inside of the receptacle and in the circuit.
