A system comprising a first electroacoustic transducer connected to an interrogation unit and at least one second electroacoustic transducer connected to a resonator, wherein the first electroacoustic transducer and the second electroacoustic transducer form an acoustic channel and the second electroacoustic transducer forms with the resonator a passive cooperative target which, upon receiving an interrogation signal from the interrogation unit, transmits a response signal via the acoustic channel, and the interrogation signal has a higher energy than the response signal.

A receiving device and a method for operating a receiving device are provided in which a signal is divided into two separate signal parts. The two signal parts are demodulated simultaneously and, from the demodulated signals, the difference is formed. After the formation of the difference, an information item is obtained from the difference signal and compared with a predetermined information item. In the case of correspondence of the obtained information and the compared information, a wake-up signal is generated.

An electronic appliance comprising an electrical circuit and an operating mode switching unit which can be awakened out of a sleep state into a working state in which the current consumption of the circuit is greater in than in the sleep state. To receive a radio signal, the appliance has a receiver comprising a UHF carrier that is amplitude-modulated by a modulation signal. The receiver comprises a UHF antenna connected to a passive filter stage to an input of a passive rectifier circuit. An output of the rectifier circuit is connected to a detector for the modulation signal. To wake the electrical circuit from the sleep state, the operating mode switching unit has a control connection to the detector. The appliance has a low current draw in the sleep state by matching the output impedance of the rectifier circuit to the input impedance of the detector.

The invention relates to piezoelectric sensor arrangements, especially sensor arrangements that can be operated in a measuring fluid, in order to be able to detect, for example, elastic properties of the measuring fluid itself or the presence and/or concentration of analyte molecules in the fluid. According to the invention, the sensor arrangement comprises an acoustic resonator which has a sensitive region and is arranged such that a resonance frequency of the sensor arrangement varies according to properties of the measuring fluid. The acoustic resonator is formed by a piezoelectric thin layer resonator and the sensitive region is produced by means of epitaxy, such that transversally polarized vibration modes can be induced.

A measuring sensor comprises at least one SAW (surface acoustic wave) element () serving as a sensor and identification unit, which is installed in a contactless manner inside a housing part () forming, in essence, a coaxial conductor. The housing part () is connected to the shield () of the connection cable whose signal conductor () extends in a contactless manner over a superficial coupling structure of the SAW element () without contact. In order to improve the near-field coupling, the coupling structure of the SAW element () comprises additively coupling partial structures, which are arranged on both sides of the signal conductor () and which, preferably with at least one strip conductor, encircle, at least for the most part, the SAW element () in the peripheral area, and which serve as an integrated discharge loop for pyroelectric charges.

For acquiring data of dynamic physical processes via a radio link, a transponder antenna () is excited by an electromagnetic exciting wave at the resonance frequency of the transponder antenna (), and a back-scattered electromagnetic sensor wave which is modulated by a sensor () having an electrical impedance depending on the data to be acquired is received and analyzed. The sensor () is directly connected to the transponder antenna () such that the sensor changes the electrical impedance of the transponder antenna () with every variation of the data to be acquired. The electromagnetic wave which is back-scattered by the transponder antenna () is received as the sensor wave at the same time as the transponder antenna () is excited by the exciting wave.

A coding scheme is specified which, compared to the prior art and with the system having a structure resolution of the same magnitude, allows an enlarged code size for the same number of code elements, and/or by which fewer code elements are required per code for a predetermined code size. The code elements are disposed with basic values in a matrix defined in a novel manner, with the matrix having a finer subdivision of the basic values than the subdivision corresponding to the structure resolution. Further development with mean-value formations are possible.

An encapsulated installation, in particular a switching installation for high or medium voltage, includes a plurality of sensors located in an interior of an encapsulation. A central monitoring device is provided for information interchange with the surface acoustic wave sensors. An antenna element of the monitoring device is disposed at the encapsulation and is directed towards the interior. The sensors can be interrogated selectively.

Encapsulated installation

In a passive surface wave sensor for measured value determination, a measured value is transmitted by radio from a remote measuring location to an interrogation device, which transmits energy by radio to a sensor element as an interrogation pulse. The surface wave sensor is suitable for contactless measured value acquisition. A surface wave configuration is the sensor element and a surface wave reference element is provided for phase discrimination and/or propagation time measurement. As a further development, a sensor operated with chirped transmitting signals and having chirped reflectors is provided, in which the configuration has a reference function in place of the reference element. A sensor constructed in such a way that it has a chirped function has the characteristics of an imminently temperature-compensated sensor for measuring other physical or similar variables.

Encapsulated tubular conductor

A method for detecting the position of a switching device and an encapsulated switching installation having at least one switching device. A transmitted signal is emitted into the interior of an encapsulation to make it possible to easily detect the position of a switching device in an encapsulated switching installation. A resultant reflection signal is received and stored. After a repetition of this process, the two received reflection signals are compared with one another. In the event of any discrepancy, a message signal is produced for the new switching state.
