A tripod head, in particular to hold a film or television camera, includes a first body and a second body, wherein the first body can be pivoted about at least one pivot axis relative to the second body, and a damping device to damp the pivoting movement of the first body relative to the second body, with a first damping element fixed to the first body and a second damping element, wherein the damping elements each have a plurality of concentrically arranged annular ribs which engage in cavities formed between the ribs of the respective other damping element and a damping medium is provided between the ribs of the damping element, wherein the second damping element is formed of at least two separate parts which are fixable independently of each other to the second body.

Tripod head

A camera support bowl clamp device comprises a bowl member of a pan tilt head suitable for supporting a broadcast or motion picture camera arranged within a recessed member of a camera support, whereby said bowl member is attached at one end of a shaft and a clamping cup arranged at an opposite end of said shaft, whereby said opposite end extends through said recessed member of a camera support; wherein said clamping cup located at a first limit position applies a clamping force to a surface of said recessed member of a camera support which subsequently pulls said bowl member, via said shaft, down into said recess and applies a second clamping force from a surface of said bowl to a cooperating surface of said recessed member, and at a second limit position releases said clamping force to said recessed member which subsequently releases said second clamping force by separating said surface of said bowl from said cooperating surface of said recessed member; characterized in that said clamping cup further comprises a clamp adjustment member, a resilient member, and a lever pivotally attached to said clamp adjustment member whereby the movement of said lever to a first position compresses said resilient member to locate said clamping cup at said second limit position, and at a second position said lever allows the resilient member to decompress to locate said clamping cup at said first position.

Tripod bowl clamp device

Tripod head for pivotably receiving a device, in particular a film or television camera, comprising a housing (), a shaft () which is rotatably mounted in the housing (), a receptacle (), which is connected to the shaft (), for the device, at least two separate energy accumulators (-) which are respectively disposed between the shaft () and the housing (), and a compensating comprising a respective interlocking (-) for the energy accumulators in order to switch the energy accumulators (-), in each case in operative connection between the housing () and shaft (), so that a restoring moment is exerted on the receptacle () via the shaft () in accordance with the torque of the device, and a common actuating element () in order to switch the energy accumulators (-) via the interlocking (-) individually or in combination, as desired, characterised in that the actuating element () is configured as a rotary disc and comprises on the side facing the housing a cam controller () which acts on the interlocking means (-) in such a way that the energy accumulators (-) can be switched via the interlocking means (-) individually or in combination, as desired.

The invention relates to a camera stand head comprising a device () for attenuating a tilting movement, and a device for compensating gravity torque occurring during the tilting movement. The device for compensating the gravity torque comprises at least one first, fixed bearing (), at least one second bearing () which is connected to an inclinable part, and at least one torsion spring () having adjustable torsion rigidity. Said torsion spring is arranged between the bearings () and comprises at least one spring bar (), the axis of the spring bar being spatially offset in relation to the central axis () of the torsion spring (). The characteristic curve (torque over angle of rotation) of the torsion spring extends essentially in a sinusoidal manner.

Camera stand head

The invention relates to a telescopic stand comprising at least three telescopic units per stand leg, wherein a clamping device which can be actuated via just one clamping lever per stand leg is provided at two fixing locations (A, B) of the central stand unit. For this purpose, the clamping device is connected together at the two fixing locations (A, B) by an actuating bar (42). This considerably simplifies the stand's handling in that far fewer clamping levers with respect to the prior art have to be actuated.

Telescopic stand

The invention relates to a lifting apparatus with a carrying part (16, 18) which is connected via a cable (22) or the like with an actuating part for adjustment of the vertical position of the carrying part, in particular by means of interconnection of a pantograph (10), the actuating part comprising an actuating device with a gear transmission of which one transmission part, under the influence of the load of the carrying part (16, 18) or a load hanging from this, exerts a force on the other transmission part which couples this transmission part with an actuating element against a restoring force, wherein, upon actuation for the lifting of the carrying part (16, 18) out of the position in which the one transmission part does not exert any force on the other transmission part, the latter is moveable again into coupling engagement by means of the actuating element.

Extendable and retractable lifting apparatus

A vertically adjustable post for a tripod (1) for a film or television camera wherein a pneumatic piston-cylinder assembly (4) is used as a vertically adjustable element. In order to obtain uniform camera support over the whole range of adjustment of the pneumatic assembly (4), the piston rod (12) of the pneumatic assembly (4) is frusto conical. The piston rod (12) is sealed against the cylinder (14) of the pneumatic assembly (4) by means of a radially resilient seal (15) which adapts to the varying diameter of the piston rod (12).

Vertically adjustable post for a film or television camera tripod

A tripod (1) including three tripod legs (3) pivotably hinged on a carrier member (2) and of adjustable length. For fixing the length of the tripod legs (3) respective clamping devices (11) are provided. To adjust the height of the tripod, the clamping devices (11) on the tripod legs (3) can be actuated in common by means of a control handle (12). For this purpose three props (13) are hinged on the control handle (12), each one of said props being connected with one clamping device (11). In a lower stop position of the control handle (12), into which position the props (13) pass substantially horizontally, the length of all tripod legs (3) is fixed.

Tripod for mounting film and video cameras

A motion picture or television camera stand is disposed on a running support consisting of a central body with three arms. The arms are provided each on their free ends with a set of wheels, the wheels being steerable through a central steering system which has a steering wheel disposed around the central column of the stand and fastened thereon, an upper central cogwheel mounted on the central column, a steering shaft rotatably mounted on the central column and extending parallel to the latter, with a pinion on its upper end cooperating with the upper central cogwheel and a pinion on its lower end cooperating with the lower pinion of the steering shaft in the central body of the support and one cogbelt drive from the lower central cogwheel to each cogwheel on the shafts bearing the running wheel sets. The stand is made to be removable from the support. Two of the arms of the support are foldable against the third arm.

Motion picture or television camera stand

A tripod (1) having a semispherical mounting tray (8) for mounting the semispherical portion (29) of a tripod head (7) for a film or television camera. The tripod head (7) has at its bottom a threaded pin (30) screwed with a threaded coupling (16) of a fastening element (10), whereby the semispherical portion (29) of the tripod head (7) can be clamped in the mounting tray (8). To be able easily to position horizontally the clamped tripod head (7), the fastening element (10) is made of several parts (11, 13, 14, 16, 19), the individual parts being compressed by a cup spring stack (13). By means of an eccentric (23, 24, 25) the cup spring stack (13) can be compressed to that the semispherical portion (29) of the tripod head can be moved with the screwed on threaded coupling (16) for leveling. If the eccentric is then forced out, the tripod head is locked in the new position by spring pressure.

Tripod for mounting film and television cameras etc.

In a mechanism or support for a television or movie camera which allows the camera to be tilted or pitched upwardly and downwardly, the weight of torque offered by the camera is counterbalanced by means of a series of accumulators or spring elements placed between the rotatable support for the camera and the stator portion of the support and adapted to be selectively engaged between the rotor and stator, depending upon the weight of the camera being used. Preferably each accumulator offers a restoring torque that is different from that of the other accumulators such that by selective engagement of various combinations of accumulators many different weights of cameras can be accommodated.
