An emulated wireless access point (AP) at a first PMC device (PMC) establishes a first tunneled direct link setup (TDLS) session between a first station module (STA) incorporated into the PMCand a second station module (STA) incorporated into a second PMC device (PMC). Following establishment of the TDLS session, the wireless AP is allowed to sleep; and most infrastructure management duties are handled by the STAduring the session. PMC device battery charge may be conserved as a result. The emulated wireless AP may also establish a second TDLS link to a third station module (STA) incorporated into a third PMC device (PMC). The STAmay then bridge data traffic flow between the STAand the STA. Such bridging operation may enable communication between two PMC devices otherwise unable to decode data received from the other.

Power efficient tunneled direct link setup apparatus, systems and methods

A method of operating a mesh network is disclosed (FIG.). The method includes receiving a data frame () having a header with plural addresses (FIG.) and determining that the data frame is not from an access point or a leaf node () of the mesh network. A next recipient address of the plural addresses is removed () when the next recipient is a final destination. The next recipient address is set () when the next recipient of the data frame is not a final destination. The data frame is transmitted () to the next recipient.

Simple mesh network for wireless transceivers

One aspect of the invention includes a computer device. The computer device includes a network interface component configured to download media from an external source through a secure network connection. The computer device also includes a memory configured to store the downloaded content. An electronic device and methods for providing high resolution ranging measurements are disclosed. The electronic device includes a pulse generator, a memory, an ADC, a timer, a comparator, a processing unit, connectors for coupling to a transceiver and instructions stored in the memory. The instructions, when performed by the processing unit, performs a method that determines an estimated time of arrival of a series of measurement pulses in the signal and turns on, prior to the estimated time of arrival, the ADC to capture the series of measurement pulses using a first resolution provided by sampling the signal at a rate equal to or greater than the Nyquist rate. The ADC remains on for a fixed time period sized to capture the series of measurement pulses.

Methods and electronic device for dynamic distance measurements

A method includes pulsating a magnetic field at a first location associated with an external surface of a wall containing magnetic material. The method also includes measuring at least one characteristic of the pulsating magnetic field at a second location associated with the external surface of the wall. The at least one characteristic changes based on corrosion on an internal surface the wall between the first and second locations. The magnetic field could be pulsated by applying an AC signal to a conductive coil or by vibrating a magnet. The method could also include analyzing the at least one measured characteristic to identify an amount of the corrosion and/or a change in the amount of the corrosion. Use of the internal surface the wall could be modified based on the amount or change of the corrosion.

Methods and apparatus to measure and analyze vibration signatures are disclosed. In some examples, a meter is provided comprising a waveform generator to generate a waveform based on first distance measurements of an object. In some examples, the meter includes a waveform generator to determine a first vibration characteristic of the object based on the waveform. In some examples, the meter includes a comparator to compare the first vibration characteristic to a signature vibration characteristic of the object, the signature vibration characteristic of the object indicative of normal characteristics of the object. In some examples, the meter includes a reporter to, in response to determining the first vibration characteristic does not match the signature vibration characteristic, generate an alert.

An energy harvesting sensor node includes an energy harvesting sensor, an energy storage device, and a transceiver. The energy harvesting sensor is configured to extract energy from an external source at a rate proportional to a value of a first parameter of the external source. The energy storage device is configured to store the extracted energy from the energy harvesting sensor at the rate proportional to the value of the first parameter. The transceiver is configured to transmit a plurality of data transmission frames at a frequency proportional to the value of the first parameter.

A method includes pulsating a magnetic field at a first location associated with an external surface of a wall containing magnetic material. A BLE network includes a first piconet including a first master scanner and a first group of low-power slave/advertisers for transmitting wireless advertisements. Circuitry in the first master/scanner wirelessly scans to detect an advertisement transmitted by a first slave/advertiser of the first group and transmits a connection request in response to the detecting, and transmits a schedule for subsequent advertisements after an initial advertisement by the first slave/advertiser. Circuitry in the first slave/advertiser transmits the initial advertisement, receives an acceptance a resulting connection request, establishes association with the first master scanner, and then causes the first slave/advertiser to go to sleep, to wake up and transmit subsequent advertisements according to the schedule and accept resulting connection requests, and transmits available data to the first master/scanner, and goes back to sleep.
