A communications and processing module is provided. The communications and processing module is electrically coupleable to a circuit breaker to provide the circuit breaker with additional capabilities. The communications and processing module includes a housing, at least one electrical contact positioned in the housing, an output lug positioned in the housing, wherein an electrical path is defined between the at least one electrical contact and the output lug, at least one sensor positioned in the housing and operable to sense at least one operating condition of the circuit breaker, and at least one communications interface positioned in the housing and communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor, the communications interface operable to receive data from the at least one sensor that is indicative of the at least one sensed operating condition to facilitate exporting the received data to a remote computing device.

The power connector includes a first end and a second end each defining an opening arranged to receive the cable. A barrier is removably coupled to a portion of the electrical distribution apparatus and selectively adjustable between a first position and a second position, the barrier arranged to prevent insertion of the cable into the first end opening and to permit insertion of the cable into the second end opening when the barrier is in the first position, the barrier arranged to prevent insertion of the cable into the second end opening and to permit insertion of the cable into the first end opening when the barrier is in the second position.

An electrical device includes a power connector coupleable to a cable. The power connector includes a body defining a first opening and an interior space. The power connector is arranged to receive the cable into the interior space through the first opening. The electrical device also includes a barrier coupled to the power connector to at least partially cover the first opening. The barrier includes a wall defining a second opening. The wall contacts the body. The second opening is arranged to receive the cable therein when the cable is coupled to the power connector.

An electrical device includes a case defining an interior space. The case includes a sidewall and a cover. The sidewall defines an opening therethrough to provide access to the interior space. The electrical device also includes a power connector coupled to the case and disposed at least partially within the interior space. The power connector is coupleable to a cable extending through the opening into the interior space of the case. The electrical device further includes a shield removably coupleable to the case. The shield includes an engagement feature and a wall. The engagement feature is arranged to engage the case. The wall is arranged to at least partially cover the opening when the shield is coupled to the case such that the wall and the cable are spaced apart a distance that is less than a width of the opening when the cable is coupled to the power connector.
