A disposable processing kit for use in developing a photographically exposed roll of instant type film. The kit includes first and second sections which are adapted to mate with each other so as to provide a chamber for enclosing a roll of flexible sheet material such that a free end thereof extends therebetween to the exterior of the kit. The first section includes means for supporting a package containing a supply of viscous processing liquid, a reservoir into which the processing liquid is adapted to flow upon rupturing of the package, and a nozzle for applying a layer of the liquid to one side of the sheet material as the latter is being withdrawn from the kit. The second section includes an integral resilient member which functions to press the sheet material against the nozzle during the spreading of the processing liquid on the sheet material, and to seal the nozzle after the sheet material has been rewound into the chamber thereby substantially sealing off any remainign liquid in the reservoir and the liquid coated sheet material from the exterior of the kit.

Disposable film processing kit

Apparatus for processing an exposed roll of instant or self-developing type transparency film. The apparatus includes structure for supporting a film cassette containing an exposed roll of film, a spool having an elongate strip of sheet material wound thereupon, and a take-up reel which is adapted to receive an end of the exposed film and the sheet material and which is adapted to be rotated so as to wind the exposed film and the sheet material thereupon in superposed relation as a processing composition is being coated upon the sheet material so as to initiate the formation of visible images in the film. The apparatus also includes means for separating the film which is to be wound upon the take-up reel from its attachment to the film cassette's spool prior to stripping the sheet material from the film while simultaneously guiding the latter to the exterior of the apparatus.

Film processor for instant type transparency film

A photographic film assemblage including an elongate composite film structure of the self-developing or instant type for use in conventional still type cameras of the non-self-developing or non-instant type. The composite film structure includes first and second sheets which are coiled within a cylindrical cassette such that only the first sheet is uncoiled and photographically exposed within such camera. A rupturable container of processing liquid is carried by one of the sheets. After the first sheet has been exposed, it is recoiled into the cassette and the latter is then removed from the camera and placed in a processor. The processor removes the first and second sheets from the cassette in a sequence which eventually locates the second sheet in engagement with the first sheet such that the former functions to aid the spreading of the processing liquid between the two sheets as they move between a pair of rollers to initiate the formation of a visible image within the composite film structure.

Photographic film assemblage

Apparatus for processing individual rolls of an exposed composite self-developing type transparency film structure. The composite film structure includes first and second sheets which are adapted to be located in superposed relation prior to having a processing liquid spread therebetween to initiate the formation of a visible image within the composite structure. The apparatus includes a first pair of rollers for withdrawing the first sheet and a portion of the second sheet from a film cassette, and a second pair of rollers which are adapted to advance the first and second sheets, in superposition, into a dark chamber while simultaneously spreading a processing liquid between and in contact with the sheets so as to initiate formation of the visible image in the composite film structure.

Processing apparatus for self-developing type roll film

A small, compact apparatus for processing individual rolls of an exposed composite self-developing transparency film structure. The apparatus includes two housings pivotally connected at one end to each other for movement from a film cassette loading position to a film processing position. The other end of each housing includes a recess for receiving the open end of a lighttight, linearly extendable chamber. Mounted within the housings is a pair of motor driven elongate rollers for spreading a processing liquid across the film to initiate the formation of visible images therein while simultaneously advancing the film from its cassette and into the lighttight chamber. The two housings and the open end of the chamber carry elements which, when the chamber is coupled in lighttight relation to the housings, function as a closed electrical switch located in series with the motor, thereby insuring that the film can be processed only when the lighttight chamber is properly coupled to the housings.

Transparency film processor

Photographic apparatus for spreading a fluid processing composition in a layer between a pair of superposed sheet elements of a self-developing type film unit to initiate formation of a visible image include a pair of roller type spreader elements having sheet-contacting surfaces rotatably mounted between spaced bearing blocks comprising a unitary piece structured to define first and second rigid sections. The first and second sections are flexibly coupled to facilitate movement of the second section towards and away from the first section. The bearing blocks integrally include means thereon which serve to establish a predetermined minimum spacing between the sheet-contacting surfaces of the spreader elements to facilitate an introduction of a leading edge of the superposed sheet elements therebetween. A spring element is associated with each of the bearing blocks and serves to continuously and resiliently urge the second section toward the first section of the bearing blocks. As the film unit is advanced between the sheet-contacting surfaces of the spreader elements, the second section is pivotally moved thereby away from the first section against the urging of the spring elements whereby one spreader element is displaced away from the other spreader element a distance greater than the predetermined minimum spacing to effect the processing composition dispensing and spreading functions.
