A self locating tie bar guide for use with a tie bar. The tie bar guide defines a passage into which the tie bar is received. A tie bar receiving portion is shiftable between an open orientation in which the tie bar can be inserted into the passage and a closed orientation in which the tie bar is held in the passage. A resilient engaging member that engages a prelocated opening in the tie bar is resiliently biased toward the tie bar when the receiving portion is in the open orientation. The resilient tie bar engaging member is shiftable away from the tie bar when the receiving portion is in the closed orientation by contact between a portion of the resilient engaging member and another portion of the tie bar guide.

Self locating tie bar guide for sash lock tie bars

A lock system for casement or awning windows. The lock system includes a keeper and a tie bar with a rivet assembly rotatably attached thereto. The rivet assembly includes a rivet and a sleeve rotationally fixed to the rivet, the rivet and the sleeve having longitudinal axes parallel to but offset from each other.

Adjustable lock point for lock tie bars

A securing mechanism for a hinged sidelight panel. The securing mechanism includes a center latch bolt for latching the hinged sidelight panel and remote locking mechanisms for locking the hinged sidelight panel. A single lever handle is used to selectively retract the remote locking mechanisms and the latch bolt. At a first orientation of the handle, both the remote locking mechanisms and the latch bolt are engaged. At a second orientation of the handle, the latch bolt remains engaged, but the remote locking mechanisms retracted. At a third orientation, both the remote locking mechanisms and the latch bolt are disengaged. The orientation of the handle informs an observer whether the locks are engaged. In one embodiment, the full rotation is about 90&#xb0;, enabling the use of longer lever handles without interference from door frames.

Hardware for a hinged light panel

A hinge for a hingedly movable sash in a window having a frame, including a track assembly having a track and a shoe engageable with the track and reciprocally movable along the track. The shoe presents a first rolling member at a first portion thereof and a bearing portion at a second portion. The shoe is shiftable between a window closed configuration in which the bearing portion contacts the track and transmits loads from the track to the sash arm and a window moving configuration in which the rolling member contacts the track and transmits loads from the track to the sash arm and rolls along the track as the shoe translates along the track.

A window lock actuator including a link assembly rotatably mounted on the window jamb, the link assembly operably securable to control movement of a cam into and out of engagement with a keeper for locking a sash to a window jamb. A handle is detachably secured to the link assembly for rotation therewith, and has two legs cradling the link assembly when the handle is secured thereto. Two tabs on the link assembly and two recesses on opposite inner surfaces of the legs engage when the handle is secured to the link assembly. An escutcheon has a spring secured on one side, which spring is biased outwardly against one side of a jamb cavity to frictionally secure the escutcheon in the cavity.

A connection for adjustably holding two window hardware members in pivotally connected relationship, including a first hardware member with a first cylindrical opening, a second hardware member with a second cylindrical opening, and a stud. The stud has a flange having two substantially parallel faces and a peripheral surface therebetween, with a rivet portion projecting from one face and a pivot portion projecting from the other face. The rivet portion includes a cylindrical neck extending through the first cylindrical opening and a head on the end of the neck, the flange and the head engaging opposite sides of the first hardware member to frictionally secure the stud against freely pivoting relative to the track. The pivot portion includes a cylindrical shaft eccentric from the cylindrical neck and extending through the second cylindrical opening. A C-ring is disposed in an external peripheral groove in the pivot portion to secure the second hardware member thereto for pivoting about the cylindrical shaft. A part of the C-ring is in the peripheral groove and a part extends radially beyond the pivot portion periphery when the C-ring is in a securing position. The peripheral groove has a depth to enable deformation of the C-ring by movement of the spaced-apart ends towards each other to a release position in which substantially all of the C-ring is in the peripheral groove. The stud flange peripheral surface is engageable with a tool to allow for adjustment of the pivotal connection by pivoting the stud.
