An adhesive tape is disclosed that is useful in the manufacture of ceramic articles, and particularly ceramic electronic components such as capacitors. The tape can be used to adhere a green ceramic article to a rigid surface for handling during the manufacturing operation. The adhesive can be deactivated after the green ceramic article has been laminated and diced to release the laminated and diced ceramic articles. The adhesive tape comprises a substrate; a light-reflective metallic layer on the substrate; a first adhesive layer of a heat stable adhesive composition on one surface of the substrate, and a second adhesive layer on the opposite surface of the substrate. The second adhesive layer comprises a heat stable, radiation curable adhesive composition which loses its adhesive characteristics upon exposure to radiation.

Radiation deactivatable adhesive tape

An antistatic composition comprising an admixture of a water soluble polymer of a quaternary ammonium salt and a an amino or sulfonyl titanate or zirconate composition. The titanate or zirconate composition is present in the admixture in an amount sufficient to reduce the moisture sensitivity of the quaternary ammonium salt polymer while retaining its antistatic properties. The antistatic properties of the composition are greater than the additive antistatic properties of the polymer and the titanate or zirconate composition. An associated method and coated antistatic surface are also disclosed.

Antistatic composition, method, and coated antistatic surface

An electrostatic dissipating packaging tape is disclosed that comprises a transparent substrate, a substantially transparent adhesive layer on one surface of the substrate, and a clay coating on the opposite surface of the substrate from the adhesive. The clay is characterized by being able to provide a surface resistivity of 10.sup.14 ohms per square or less when present on a surface in amounts that are low enough to remain transparent, and the clay is present on the substrate surface in an amount sufficient to provide the coating with a surface resistivity of 10.sup.14 ohms per square or less, but less than an amount that would substantially reduce the transparent optical properties of the packaging tape.

Static-dissipating adhesive tape

A transparent static dissipative adhesive tape is disclosed. The tape comprises a transparent polymer substrate having opposed first and second surfaces, a transparent static dissipative coating on the first surface of the substrate, and a transparent static dissipative adhesive coating on the second surface of the substrate. The adhesive coating comprises a transparent conductive layer on the second surface formed of conductive particles in a polymer matrix, and a transparent adhesive layer without any conductive particles over the conductive layer. The exposed surface of the adhesive layer exhibits conductivity substantially the same as the conductivity of the underlying conductive layer.
