A manual litter box provides various advantages over the prior art. In particular, in one embodiment, the manual litter box is configured to use a disposable cartridge which may include a litter compartment and a waste compartment. In another embodiment, the cartridge may be non-compartmentalized. The cartridge may be disposable, thus eliminating the need for the user to clean the litter tray and handle heavy litter containers. In other embodiments, the system includes a rake assembly configured with a manual shuttle chassis drive assembly that is protected from contamination. In accordance with another embodiment of the invention, the manual litter box is configured to be used with all types of litter including crystal type litter.

Manual litter box

An improved water return system for water reservoirs such as aquariums and ponds that provides a return of filtered water through a series of holes rather than a curved weir or spillway. The use of the holes provides for high oxygenation of the water prior to its return to the water reservoir to the benefit of life in the water reservoir. Further, the use of the holes provides reduced noise upon the return of the water because of the surface tensions attracting adjacent streams to each other. Also, placement of the holes provides a damming effect for the filter media that can become a site for the cultivation of beneficial bacteria that are necessary to remove ammonia and nitrites from the water by positioning the media mostly out of water, thereby allowing necessary oxygen to be freely available to grow bacteria.

Aquarium filter water return chamber

An aquarium filter which is constructed of a housing which includes a module. The module is divided into a plurality of different sections. A separate filter cartridge is to be mounted within each section. Each filter cartridge is to be removable and replaceable in conjunction with its specific section.

Aquarium filter unit

A strap wrench which includes a plurality of gripping pads located on the strap that facilitates tight engagement of the cylindrical object that is used to be located thereabout for the purpose of gripping and turning of the cylindrical object. The strap wrench also includes a brake that provides for securely locking of the position of the strap when it is in its tightly mounted position preventing any loosening movement of the strap. The brake includes a ratcheting mechanism that permits movement of the handle in only one position when the brake is in the locked position. The strap may include a joint assembly which will permit the strap to be separated to be located in conjunction with a cylindrical object and then rejoined.

Rotation of the thumb wheel produces lineal movement of a strap that attaches to the handle. The strap wrench is firmly mounted about a generally cylindrical object and applying a twisting force to the strap wrench is to result in turning movement of the generally cylindrical object.
