A personal hygiene device is provided to assist a user to wipe him or herself, another, or an area of the home. The device contains a gripping head constructed of a flexible material and contains a gripping element, which may hold a wipe within it. The device also contains a rigid housing, and a pump at the opposite end of the gripping head, such that upon actuation of the pump increased fluid pressure inside the gripping head opens the internal grips to an extent that any wipe held therein will be released. In an embodiment of the invention, the housing contains a hinge so the unit may be folded for storage, or extended and locked in place for use.

A gel extraction device () comprises a hollow cutting member () having cutting edge () at one end and a squeeze bulb () at the other end. In a further embodiment, the air passage between the cutting edge and the bulb has a constriction zone () to prevent any extracted gel from being drawn too deeply into the extractor, in another embodiment, a blow-hole in the hollow cutting member or in the squeeze bulb provides for the passage of air displaced by gel through the extractor. The blow-hole may be covered to secure the gel in the receptacle for transfer from the matrix to a sample container.

Tool for extracting electrophoretic sample

A gel extraction device comprising a hollow cutting member and a plunger ejector member. The hollow cutting member has a proximal tubular body terminating at one end in a circular rim having oppositely disposed spring engaging structures and a distal sloped transition portion ending in a rectangular receptacle and a tapered end portion with a sharp perimeter cutting edge. The plunger ejector member has a proximal cap atop and connected to a split stem portion having outer legs with shoulder stop extensions; an inner ribbon spring leg having a distal end inserted into a spring engaging structure in the assembled device; and a solid rectangular distal portion. In a second embodiment the split end portion is replaced by a stem having a plurality of lateral protrusions and a coiled spring is placed within the hollow cutting member tubular body. A third embodiment is a hybrid of the first two embodiments.

Gel extraction device

A manually operated, two lever arm type garlic press is provided which a detachably associated cleaning plate that is stored at the front end of the one of the lever arms (preferably, the first lever arm). The cleaning plate is provided with projections on its inner surface which are adopted to engage with apertures in the floor plate of the press chamber so as to clean debris from the apertures after usage of the garlic press. During storage, the projections extend forwardly from the associated lever arm. The cleaning plate is provided with opposing side clips and with top and bottom stabilizing legs that coact together and cooperate with side portions of the associated lever arm adjacent to the front end to hold the cleaning plate relative to that lever arm. Preferably, the top stabilizing leg also functions as a lock to retain the lever arms in a closed configuration during garlic press storage.

A clipboard, which may include an easel support, includes a pair of spaced apart and parallel raised side ridges adapted to confine paper so that it does not move during use of the product. In one embodiment, in which an easel support is built into the back of the clipboard, the product may be used to display information provided on sheets of paper or a pad or a tablet thereof.

An improved paint pad assembly is provided with a painting surface contour that is changeable from concave to flat to convex so that the paint pad can paint exterior corners, flat surfaces and interior corners with equal ease. The one-piece paint pad features handpieces disposed on the opposing edges of the paint pad. The two-piece embodiment features an inverted U-shaped handle mounted to the opposing side edges of the paint pad via a tab and lock configuration. The paint pad is hinged in the longitudinal direction thereby enabling the pad surface to extend outwardly for painting an interior corner and inwardly for painting an exterior corner with equal ease.

A paint roller having an adjustable shield is disclosed. The shield is adjustable by the user from a position of minimum shielding, which facilitates loading the roller with paint, to a position of maximum shielding which provides maximum spatter protection. The adjustment of the shield may quickly and easily be made with one hand by the user, and particularly by the same hand by which the roller is held.

A stackable tray system used, for example, as an organizer tray system in offices, includes two or more trays spaced vertically from one another. Support elements are provided for separating the trays and for supporting the upper tray in each tray pair. Furthermore, the support elements, in combination with the upper tray in a pair and a slide retainer, permit the upper tray to be moved horizontally with respect to the lower tray to provide a cascading appearance. With the upper tray displaced horizontally from the lower tray, access to the lower tray is facilitated, both to add material thereto or to remove contents of the tray.

The invention is a pad-type paint or coating applicator whose physical contour may be changed by novel hand pressure applied to applicator during a painting operation. The applicator includes means for changing the cross-sectional contour of the pad over an infinite number of angles by hand pressure applied by the user.
