A method and apparatus for screening an incoming telephone call from a caller on an external telephone line connected to an answering device for recording the call includes inserting into the telephone line a circuit comprising a voltage sensitive device and a bridging device for allowing a handset of a telephone set connected to the telephone line and remote from the answering device to be picked up to listen to the call. The handset of the telephone set is picked up to enable a speaker component of the telephone set without interrupting operation of the answering device. The incoming call is listened to via the enabled speaker component while the answering device operates. A microphone component of the telephone set is optionally enabled to speak with the caller. The operation of the answering device may be interrupted by pressing a switch.

Method and apparatus for increasing catalytic efficiency of electrodes

An electronic calculator structure comprised of a flexible printed circuit on a thin flexible dielectric material base to which are fixed a low profile solid state computing and driving elements, a readout register and a low profile flexible diaphram type number and function key structure large enough for finger operation, a P-70 Rayovac class thin battery, and an ON-OFF switch, all coupled together in manner to form a thin flexible calculator structure suitable for many end product uses such as being housed between two layers of thin flexible vinyl to form one side of a thin flexible folder, the other side of which carries a pad or business form such as check book or bank deposit and withdrawal recording form to create thereby a thin, flexible, light, folder type calculator for comfortable pocket storage and ready access for on-the-spot use to solve mathematical problems. In one embodiment the ON-OFF switch has an outwardly projecting member when in the ON position as an obstruction to closing the folder for storage until moved to the OFF position to prevent battery discharge during storage. The calculator structure is as thin as five thirty seconds of an inch, thereby sufficiently thin for incorporation as a separate page in a conventional note book or incorporation in a notebook cover for ready access in business, laboratory or class room.

Thin flexible electronic calculator

A spring holder which converts a box of tissues into a convenient, out-of-the-way storage and dispensing container particularly suitable for mounting in automobiles, the spring holder being characterized by a pair of spring legs adapted for anchoring at one end and at the other end having a support formation in cooperative relation to the spring legs and box for providing yieldable lift support to the tissue box against a reference surface, as well as resistance to lateral movement of the tissue box. In a first embodiment, each of the spring legs is of spring wire and has a spring loop distal from the anchor end and the support formation is comprised of an extension of each of the spring wire legs from the spring loop and having angular bends therein to engage a side, bottom and edge of an opening in the bottom of the tissue box. In a second embodiment, the support formation is comprised of an extension of each of the spring wire legs from the respective spring loop and having bends therein to engage two opposed ends and bottom of the tissue box, and an additional member fixed in transverse relation to the spring leg extensions for engaging the two sides of the box. In a third embodiment, the support formation is comprised of an extension of each of the spring wire legs from the spring loop and a tray fixed to the leg extensions and having a bottom and sides for engaging the bottom and respective sides of said tissue box. In a fourth embodiment, the pair of spring legs are of flat elastically resilient plastic and the support formation is comprised of an extension of the combined spring legs and having angular bends therein to engage a side, bottom and edge of an opening in the bottom of the tissue box.
