A pallet for supporting a load of packages is disclosed. The pallet includes a support structure comprising flexible film wrapped around at least one of the layers of the load. The flexible film is wrapped around two axes which are generally perpendicular to one another and preferably located within the same plane such that the flexible film covers at least a majority of the layer(s). The pallet also includes a base positioned adjacent to the support structure which is adapted to receive forks of a forklift. The base may have an elongate tubular configuration and be constructed from a disposable/recyclable material.

Apparatus and method for stripping a can body having an open end and a closed end from the punch on a reciprocating ram of a can body making apparatus wherein a cavity exists between the closed end and the punch and wherein the ram has a forward stroke and a return stroke by moving the closed end into contact with doming apparatus during the forward stroke to move a valve from a closed to an opened position to feed air under pressure into the cavity to hold the closed end against the doming apparatus during the return stroke until the can body is separated from the punch and ejecting the stripped can body from the doming apparatus.

Apparatus and method for stripping a workpiece from a supporting device

Apparatus for stripping a cylindrical workpiece, such as a can body, from a cylindrical supporting device, such as a punch of a can body making machine, using a plurality of resilient fingers which are mounted in a circumferentially spaced relationship to provide a circular opening having a diameter less than the outer diameter of the punch so that on the return stroke of the punch, the resilient fingers will be in contact with the outer surface of the punch and will contact the leading edge of the workpiece to disengage it from the punch.

Apparatus for stripping workpieces

A frame composed of side members and interconnecting cross bars is attached to a generally flat surface by arrangements which hold the rack or frame in spaced relation to the surface. Releasable clamping devices are arrayed on the cross bars for temporary cargo storage. One form of clamping device is particularly well suited for retaining elongated flat objects such as skis in a position which is perpendicular to the rack on the side opposite the attachment to the surface. By employing three cross bars for the rack, ski lengths of various dimensions can be accommodated and, when used in conjunction with a vertical van type vehicle door, the rack can concurrently provide a ladder function. A trough and clamping bar arrangement between the flat surface to which the rack is mounted and the members of the rack can accommodate other elongated objects such as ski poles.
