A cellular telephone protocol adaptive printing system includes a mobile device protocol logic configured to transmit a print job from a cellular telephone to an image forming device, pursuant to a print data transmission protocol; and a content transforming logic configured to process a print item into the print job pursuant to the print data transmission protocol supported by the mobile device protocol logic.

Cellular telephone protocol adaptive printing

A cellular telephone protocol adaptive printing method is provided. An example method may include identifying a cellular telephone print item to print, identifying a print data transmission protocol for transmitting from a cellular telephone to an image forming device via a wireless communication link, identifying print job elements to process according to the print data transmission protocol, selectively processing the print job elements according to the print data transmission protocol, and processing the print job elements into a print job. In one example, the method includes transmitting the print job to an image forming device. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the application. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be employed to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims 37 CFR 1.72(b).

In one embodiment, a print control system is provided for use in a cellular telephone. A printing logic is configured to generate printer-ready data from a selected data to be printed. A viewing logic is configured to interpret and display the printer-ready data to simulate a printed state of the printer-ready data.

Techniques for extending access to biometric authentication systems to locations not necessarily equipped with a biometric scanner are disclosed. For example, an improved biometric authentication system may also accept a user-inputted pass code derived from, and serving as a proxy for, the user's biometric identifier. The pass code is constructed to be of a form that is meaningful to the user, so that it is readily memorizable. Exemplary forms of pass codes can include one or more words of text, color sequences, and more.

In one embodiment, a method is provided for a wireless mobile device where data is received over a wireless data connection indicative of presence of compatible components and a selection of the compatible components are displayed. Data is continued to be received further identifying the compatible components. The displayed selection of compatible components is changed in accordance with a convention and based on the continued receipt of data where the method is performed automatically by a wireless mobile device.

An adapter suitable for use with digital cameras (and other digital imaging devices) converts the digital camera to a biometric scanner. One exemplary adapter includes a receptacle for receiving a body part, a coupler for attachment to the digital camera, and one or more optical components for acquiring an image of a biometric characteristic of the body part. Optional features might include: (a) automatically detecting of the body part and transmitting a command to an input interface of the camera; (b) using auxiliary lighting to illuminate the biometric image; (b) digitally post-processing the image after acquisition but prior to authentication; and/or (d) acquiring a biometric utterance of the user providing the biometric image for dual-factor biometric authentication; and/or still other features described herein.

A system for audio- or video-enhancement of books or other reading material includes a substantially transparent guide sheet, a pointing device, and a broadcast device. The guide sheet is configured to be placed over or under and aligned with a selected page. The user touches the pointing device on the guide sheet or the page, and the broadcast device determines the position of contact, and provides audio and/or video output corresponding to contents of the book at the contacted location. The system may include an active guide sheet and passive pointing device, or an active pointing device and passive guide sheet, or both an active pointing device and an active guide sheet.

A multi-camera capture system is aligned using a capture system so that a subject remains in the field of view of a camera. In one embodiment of the present invention, the multi-camera system capture system is mounted on a camera platform. The camera platform is connected to a subject platform and the subject platform is constrained to remain in the field of view of a first camera of the multi-camera capture system. In another embodiment of the present invention, the multi-camera capture system is mounted on a camera platform that moves along a circular track system. The camera platform is configurable to align a first camera to capture a subject within the circular track system as the camera platform moves along the circular track system.

A system for enhancement of books or other reading material includes an item of reading material, printed on a substrate having a substantially invisible, machine-readable coordinate grid. A pointing device is configured to detect the coordinate grid on the substrate when placed in proximity thereto. An output device receives input from the pointing device to determine the location of the pointing device relative to the substrate, and provides output corresponding to contents of the reading material at the location. The output may be in the form of audio and/or video.
