Blow moldable propylene polymer compositions

A filled thermoplastic composition having improved combinations of processability, stiffness and toughness which demonstrates improved scuff resistance in extruded or molded articles is prepared by admixing a thermoplastic polymer, an uncalcined filler and a calcined filler.

Filled thermoplastic composition

A polycarbonate blend composition with a good balance of high impact resistance, moldability, and controllable gloss with reduced tendencies of pearlescence or delamination in molded articles is prepared by admixing with polycarbonate a substantially linear ethylene polymer or linear ethylene polymer, an olefinic epoxide-containing copolymer, and a polyester.

Polycarbonate blend compositions

Fluorinated non-graphitic carbonaceous films and foams

A process and the product made thereby are disclosed in the preferred form of this process, chlorinated polyethylene is first fluorinated ambient temperature for an interval of contact with elemental fluorine. Then, contact with a strong base converts the polymer into conjugated double bonds, reducing electrical resistance. The double bonds yield a surface layer able to controllably conduct electrical current.

Fluorine induced dehydrohalogenation process

An olefin oxide is produced from an olefin in an electrolytic cell by mixing an aqueous electrolyte and liquid olefin under pressure, flowing the liquid mixture through a restricting device into the electrolytic bath of the cell to reduce the pressure of the mixture and to vaporize the olefin, and applying an electric current to the electrolyte/olefin mixture. The electrolyte includes a metal halide, a carbonate salt and a bicarbonate salt.

Process for preparing olefin oxides

Polymers modified by reaction with thiocyano or isothiocyano generating reactants provide improved adhesive strength to laminates prepared therefrom, improved paint adhesion, increased viscosity and alterated gas permeability compared to unmodified polymers.

Modification of polymers

Solid polymers having thiocyanate or isothiocyanate functionality added to reactive unsaturation thereof provide improved adhesive strength to laminates prepared therefrom, improved paint adhesion and other properties.
