A vehicle battery coolant system includes a first battery module including a first plurality of cells and a second battery module including a second plurality of cells. A coolant plate is disposed between the first and second battery modules and in heat transfer relationship with the first and second battery modules, wherein the coolant plate has fluid passages therein.

Dual-sided propulsion battery coolant system

A system includes a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) having an enclosure, battery cells, contactors, a first pair of high-voltage interlock (HVIL) ports, and female blind-mate electrical sockets selectively connected to the battery cells via the contactors. The battery cells and contactors are within the RESS enclosure. The system includes a high-power distribution module (HPDM) having another enclosure, male blind-mate electrical pins, a second pair of HVIL ports engagable with the first pair, ring-terminal connections connected to the blind-mate electrical pins and connectable to high-current components, and HV280 electrical connectors electrically connected to one or more of the male blind-mate electrical pins. The male blind-mate electrical pins insert directly into and engage with the female blind-mate electrical sockets of the RESS enclosure. A vehicle includes the system, a transmission, and an electric machine.

Disclosed herein are a variety of embodiments of a thermal interface material that may be used in a variety of systems and methods to improve heat transfer. One embodiment consistent with the present disclosure includes a heat dissipation system that includes a heat source and a heat sink. A thermal interface material may be at least partially disposed between the heat source and the heat sink. The thermal interface material may include a plurality of strands of thermally conductive material woven into a pattern. The thermal interface material may be configured to conform to the contact surfaces of the heat source and the heat sink to thereby increase transference of heat between the heat source and the heat sink.

Structurally integrated propulsion battery

A battery cell module includes an enclosure having an electrically non-conductive perimeter and at least one cover formed from a thermally conductive material. The cover has a substantially flat inner surface and sealingly engages the electrically non-conductive perimeter. A plurality of series-interconnected battery cells are placed together into facing contact with each other, an exterior one of the battery cells in facing contact with the inner surface of the cover to facilitate heat transfer therethrough and to provide a desired compression against the series-interconnected battery cells. A first end of the series-interconnected battery cells includes a positive terminal end, and a second end of the series-interconnected battery cells including a negative terminal end, the series-interconnected battery cells the positive and negative terminal ends extending through the electrically non-conductive perimeter.

A mounting arrangement for a battery pack in a vehicle including the battery pack and a vehicle body, the battery pack including a housing having a hollow interior and a battery assembly disposed in the hollow interior of the housing, wherein the battery assembly includes at least one battery cell and a plurality of rails coupled thereto, and the vehicle body including support rails and a compartment formed therein to receive the battery pack therein, wherein the compartment of the vehicle body supports the housing and the support rails support the rails of the battery assembly to divide a vertical load of the battery pack.

Mounting arrangement for a battery pack

A light guide and various vehicular lamp assemblies using the same are presented herein. In one embodiment, the lamp assembly includes a light source, such as an LED module. A light coupler is operable to receive light from the light source, and distribute the light in a first direction. The light guide includes an elongated, curvilinear body with first and second longitudinal end faces, and opposing light-emitting and light-guiding surfaces extending between the two end faces on a respective side of the body. The first end face communicates with the light coupler to receive light therefrom. The light guide body transmits light generated by the light source along the longitudinal expanse thereof. The light-guiding surface includes an array of longitudinally-spaced optical grooves configured to refract light generated by the light source in a second direction. The depth of preselected optical grooves is varied along the length of the light guide.

Light guide for vehicle lamp assembly

A vehicle body includes a fender and a headlamp assembly. The headlamp assembly defines an upwardly exposed and unobstructed surface, and is movably mounted with the fender such that the headlamp assembly moves from a first position to a second position in response to a load having a vertical component acting on the surface.

Vehicle headlamp assembly

The present invention provides various lamp assembly configurations for motorized vehicles. In one embodiment, the lamp assembly includes a light source, such as a light emitting diode (LED) module, that is operable to generate light. The light source is attached to the vehicle structure, located on the interior of the vehicle adjacent to the aperture. A light guide is operatively connected to the light source. The light guide is configured to transmit light generated by the light source to preselected locations along the exterior of the vehicle structure, and diffuse the light. The light guide is attached to the vehicle structure, located on the exterior of the vehicle adjacent to the aperture in opposing relation to the light source. The cross-sectional area of the aperture formed through the vehicle structure is less than the cross-sectional areas of the LED module body and the light emitting segment of the light guide.

Vehicle lamp assembly

A collapsible closeout for a gap between a vehicle lamp and closure, and particularly well suited for a gap between a headlamp and a hood, is disclosed. The closeout may include a base mounted to a lamp housing, a closeout wall extending from the base, and a contact flange extending under the hood and having a free end extending toward a headlamp lens. The closeout may also include first support ribs extending from the closeout wall toward the headlamp and opposed second support ribs extending from the closeout wall.

Vehicle lamp collapsible closeout

An assembly having a device for releasably fastening a first component to a second component includes a device body, a first fastener extending from the device body and operable to attach the device body to the first component, and a second fastener extending from the device body and adapted to attach the device to the second component. When a force of greater than a predetermined amount is applied to the second component, the first fastener detaches from the first component without damaging the first component. Preferably, the first component is a vehicle headlamp or taillamp assembly and the second component is a bumper fascia. The first and second fasteners of the device body accurately position the fascia relative to the headlamp assembly and securely hold the fascia at a location near a lamp lens.

Releasable fastening device

An adjustable fastener assembly for a vehicle includes a retainer for connection to a first vehicle part and a tab portion for connection to a second vehicle part to be received by the retainer. The adjustable fastener assembly also includes an adjustable mechanism between the tab portion and the retainer to act as a temporary holding device to prevent the tab portion from exiting the retainer after a position of the first vehicle part and the second vehicle part are set to a desired location relative to each other.
