An electronic elevator guard device that monitors a set of integrity states of a plurality of elevator features includes at least one sensor in an elevator and configured for monitoring at least a first of the integrity states and generating a first monitoring signal based on a sensed current status of the first integrity state. The guard device includes a questioning device having or communicating with a human-machine interface and configured for asking predetermined questions to a consulted person and for receiving the person's answers via the human-machine interface, the questions relating to at least a second of the integrity states, and generating a second monitoring signal based on at least one answer. The guard device includes an evaluation device configured for generating an overall monitoring signal based on the first and second monitoring signals and sending the overall signal to a remote recipient via a communication device.

Electronic elevator guard device and method for monitoring a set of integrity states of a plurality of elevator features

In a method for modernizing a building, a former stairwell of the building is converted such that an elevator shaft of an elevator system to be constructed can be provided in the former stairwell. The elevator shaft is provided in the former stairwell of the building such that stepless access is facilitated to specific floors of the building from an elevator car of the elevator system, which car can be provided in the elevator shaft. A new staircase is constructed outside the former stairwell. In addition, a former staircase is removed from the former stairwell. Furthermore, access bridges are disposed next to the elevator shaft in the former stairwell, thereby enabling flush access from the new staircase to the specific floors.

Method for modernizing a building and structure with an elevator system constructed in a building

An elevator installation includes an elevator car moved in an elevator shaft between floors in a building. A shaft door for closing the elevator shaft is arranged at each floor. A method for representing information on the shaft doors makes possible a qualitatively high-grade projection of an image on the shaft door. The shaft doors are formed to be at least partly transparent, wherein a projector is arranged in the elevator shaft and projects an image onto the side of the shaft door facing the elevator shaft.

A method of communicating information to elevator users utilizes a building server to store elevator user personal information profiles and information to be communicated. When an elevator user is identified, the building server communicates a portion of the stored information based upon the associated profile. The building server functions as a data manager and is connected to various different sources of data to collect the information to be communicated. The data sources can include videos, movies, the Internet, the elevator control, the building control center, etc. An identification unit controls access by the elevator users. The elevator user is able to receive the communicated information on a display unit in the vicinity of or in the elevator car.

An elevator installation having a system of making payments so that the installation can be operated as a means of transport for providing chargeable transportation services for persons and/or goods. Also provided is an identification device for recognition of types of cashless payment, a calculation device for cashless calculation of transportation services to, for example, trip destinations input within a time window, and a charging device for cashless debiting of the costs of transportation services. The identification device can recognize different types of cashless payment such as tokens, tokens with electronic chips, prepayment cards, cards or keys with data carriers, or transmitter/receiver systems or biometric systems with individual data of the user. The charging for transportation services can, for example, take place in relation to operations-specific and/or user-specific criteria.
