An absorbent pant article in the form of boxer shorts includes a garment shell including a front body panel, a back body panel and a crotch panel made of elastic web material. The pant also includes an absorbent core, side seams connecting the front body panel to the back body panel, a pair of leg openings and hanging legs. The leg openings are located in the crotch panel and do not extend into the front and back body panels, and side seams extend into the crotch panel. The width of the crotch panel in a relaxed condition of the elastic web material, as measured between the side seams of the article, is at least 7% larger than the width of any of the front and back body panels in a relaxed condition of the respective elastic web material.

Absorbent article in the form of boxer shorts and method for making thereof

A pant-type absorbent article includes a front and a back portion, longitudinally extending side seams and a connecting portion between the front and back portions. The connecting portion forms a crotch region and leg openings. Part of the front portion, back portion, and the connecting portion is made of an elastic laminate extending transversely across the front, back and connecting portions. Elongated leg elastic members extend along the leg openings in at least part of the connecting portion and terminate at a distance from the respective side seam thus leaving an area corresponding to a peripheral length of at least 50 mm along the respective leg opening where the leg elastic members are absent and wherein the connecting portion in the area where the leg elastic members are absent is made of the elastic laminate in at least 90% of the peripheral length.

A pant-type absorbent article including a first body panel having a body facing side and a garment facing side and a second body panel having a body facing side and a garment facing side, the body facing sides of first and second body panels are held together in a face-to-face relationship along lateral edges to form side connections. The article further including a first fastening member hingedly attached to or near a lateral edge of the body facing side of the first body panel and having a portion which is unattached to said first body panel, said portion is refastenably attached to a complementary second fastening member provided on the body facing side of the second body panel. A recess forming a finger grip may be provided in the lateral edge of the first body panel.

Method of manufacturing absorbent articles, apparatus for manufacturing absorbent articles and disposable pant

A method for facilitating the alignment of first and second side panel portions of a pants-type diaper whilst feeding a pants-type diaper precursor in a machine direction through processing apparatus. The pants-type diaper precursor includes a leading edge region, a trailing edge region and first and second side edge regions, each of the first and second side edge regions having a first side panel portion at the leading edge region and a second side panel portion at the trailing edge region. The method includes applying elastic elements under tension to a flat continuous web having a predetermined width in the cross-machine direction, the web forming either the backsheet or the topsheet of the pants-type diaper. The elastic element in the trailing edge region is adapted to generate a greater gathering force than the elastic element in the leading edge region such that the first and second panels are better aligned when brought into overlapping relationship.

Method for manufacturing a pants-type diaper

An absorption article such as a pant diaper, having a liquid-permeable topsheet, a liquid-impermeable backsheet and an absorption body positioned therebetween, the article having a front end portion, a rear end portion, and a crotch portion lying therebetween, the rear end portion and the adjacent part of the crotch portion having a transverse elastic system, a rear leg elastic system which runs between the two longitudinal side edges of the article along the leg cutout of the article in the rear part of the crotch portion and crosses the crotch portion essentially parallel to the transverse center line of the article. The article has, on each side of the absorption body, a pocket for temporary storage of liquid, the extent of the pocket being limited by the longitudinal side edge of the absorption body, the transverse elastic system and the rear leg elastic system.

Absorbent article

Absorbent product of pants-like shape, such as incontinence pants, including an elastic waist portion, an absorbent element, and a liquidtight outer layer which is intended to enclose the absorbent element on at least that side thereof which faces away from the wearer during use of the article. The elastic waist portion is made from an elastic first piece which is essentially rectangular and is intended to form the rear portion and side portions of the pants-like product. A second piece forms the front portion and crotch portion of the pants-like product. The second piece is elongate, and the width thereof is, at least in the crotch portion, smaller than the length of the first piece. The second piece is arranged with its longitudinal direction at right angles in relation to the longitudinal direction of the first piece and is connected by a first end portion to one longitudinal edge portion of the first piece. One end portion of the first piece is connected to a first side edge portion of the second piece, and the other end portion of the first piece is connected to a second side edge portion of the second piece. The absorbent element is in its entirety arranged on the second piece.

Absorbent product with improved instantaneous liquid adsorption, and improved fit

A method and apparatus for manufacturing a belted garment includes: placing a first belt half and a second belt half in a partially overlapping relationship such that first end regions of the first and second belt halves contact each other in a region of overlap, and second end regions of the first and second belt halves remain uncovered; releasably joining together the first end regions to create a temporary laminate; bringing a first surface of a carrier web and the temporary laminate into mutual contact such that the first surface of the carrier web contacts the laminate in the region of overlap of the first end regions of the belt halves, and causing at least a portion of the second end region of the first belt and second belt halves to contact a second surface of the carrier web.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing belted garments

An absorbent article suitable for use as a diaper or adult incontinence garment includes an absorbent body disposed between a cover sheet, an inner sheet. Longitudinally extending folds disposed on the inner sheet inhibit the leakage of bodily exudates from the edges of the article. Elastic members extend along a portion of the length of the folds in the mid portion of the article. In the back portion of the article, elastic members connected to the inner sheet extend adjacent the edges of the absorbent body to enhance the fit of the garment. In the front portion of the article, elastic members may also be connected to the inner sheet and extend adjacent the edges of the absorbent body to enhance the fit of the garment.

Disposable absorbent article with high collection capacity

The invention relates to an application drum for use in the production of absorbent articles. The application drum has a longitudinal axis of rotation and comprises material engagement means on the outside thereof for both collecting and delivering a material component. In order to be able to use only a single drum and still be able to place material components more to one or the, other side of the center-line of a conveyor belt, the material engagement means is arranged for reciprocal movement with respect to the drum in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum.
