It is. proposed to control the flow of the exhaust gas through the oxidation catalyst () depending on a desired ratio among the one or more constituents, wherein the exhaust gas enters the selective-catalytic-reduction catalyst () with the desired ratio among the one or more constituents; and to establish the desired ratio among the one or more constituents so that at a given reaction temperature in the selective-catalytic-reduction catalyst () one specific chemical reaction is selected out of a group of possible chemical reactions which can take place among the one or more constituents of the exhaust gas and the catalyst material in the selective-catalytic-reduction catalyst () at the given temperature, wherein the selected specific chemical reaction has a higher probability to be performed than each single one of the other chemical reactions which are not selected.

Control method for controlling an exhaust aftertreatment system and exhaust aftertreatment system

Method and device for reduction of a gas component in an exhaust gas flow of a combustion engine () that is adapted for operation by a lean air/fuel mixture. An exhaust pipe () is included for transport of the exhaust gas flow from the engine (). A separation unit () is also included that is arranged along the exhaust pipe (), which separation unit () has a wall structure () of a material which provides separation of the gas component from the exhaust gas flow by means of a selective passage of the gas component before other gas components in the exhaust gas flow. The method provides for a reduction and a separation unit that is intended to be utilized during such a reduction. An improved reduction of in particular NOcompounds from a so-called 'lean-burn' engine is also provided.

Device and method for reduction of a gas component in an exhaust gas flow of a combustion engine

A catalyst unit () configured for the reduction of NOcompounds in a gas stream and which includes a catalytically active material of the silver/alumina type. The catalyst unit () has at least one first reaction zone () containing the catalytically active material and at least one second reaction zone () which is arranged to permit breakdown of a gas species which is formed in the first reaction zone (), with Nbeing formed, and in that the gas stream is conducted through the first reaction zone () and the second reaction zone (). An internal combustion engine exhaust gas system includes an EGR arrangement adapted to lead a first flow of exhaust gas, the EGR flow, from an outlet side of the engine to an inlet side of the engine, an exhaust gas conduit adapted to lead away a second flow of exhaust gas, the exhaust flow, from the outlet side of the engine, and an energy recovering unit, such as a turbo, associated with the exhaust gas conduit. The unit is adapted to recover exhaust gas energy from the exhaust flow. The system includes a heat exchanger adapted to allow heat exchange between at least a part of the EGR flow and at least a part of the exhaust flow, the heat exchanger being associated with the exhaust gas conduit at a position downstream the energy recovering unit.

The invention is characterized in that the oxidation catalyst (OX) includes iron (Fe) and silver (Ag) loaded on a zeolite. The invention also relates to a method and an arrangement and a catalytic conversion device that utilizes the porous material, and indicates an advantageous use of the porous material.
