The present invention relates to a method for determining size of biomolecules separated in a medium by an electric field using marker molecules of known size, comprising &#x2014;() detecting a plurality of bands and forming a detected marker sequence and a detected unknown sequence based on a separation criterion, &#x2014;() determining band properties for each detected band, &#x2014;() comparing the band properties of the detected bands of the detected marker sequence with known band properties for a plurality of marker molecules forming a known marker sequence and assigning a score to each comparison, said score being based on at least one of relative distance, relative intensity, expected distance and expected intensity between bands, &#x2014;() selecting the comparison with the highest score and associating all or a subset of the detected bands of the detected marker sequence with said plurality of marker molecules of the known marker sequence in accordance with said comparison to determine size of the all or a subset of the detected marker sequence, and &#x2014;() comparing the bands of the detected marker sequence with the bands of the detected unknown sequence to determine a size of biomolecules for each identified band of the detected unknown sequence based on the known sizes of the marker molecules. The invention also relates to software configured to perform the method and to a computer readable medium for storing said software.

Method for determining a size of biomolecules

The present invention relates to a method for identification of specific target proteins in a protein sample following a detection procedure, such as a Western blotting procedure, wherein the membrane is probed with at least two primary antibodies directed against the same and/or different epitopes of the same target protein, and wherein specific binding to the target protein in a sample is differentiated from unspecific binding to the target protein by comparing the resulting sample patterns, such as bands or spot patterns, with each other. In a further step signals from the true target proteins are enhanced while signals resulting from unspecific binding are diminished.

Method for specific identification of target biomolecules

A role-based access control method and/or system permits end users to securely pair their mobile devices via a pairing apparatus with one or more instruments to, for example, remotely monitor operations of the instruments. In an embodiment, the process includes a pairing apparatus receiving a pairing request from an instrument including a unique access code, and receiving a pairing request from an end user mobile device that includes an end user mobile device identifier and an access code. If the unique access code matches the end user's access code, then the end user mobile device identifier is added to a security group and a successful pairing message is transmitted to at least one of the instrument and the end user mobile device.

A method is provided for comparing multiple samples of cell extract containing a plurality of components. The method comprises the steps of preparing at least two samples of cell extract from at least two groups of cells and of exposing each of said sample of said cell extract to a different one of a set of matched markers, e.g. luminescent markers, to bind the marker to the cell extract to label the cell extract, each marker within said set of markers being capable of binding to the cell extract and can be individually detected from all other markers within said set. The samples are then mixed to form a mixture and said mixture is electrophoresed to separate the components within the cell extract. At least two electronic images of the electrophoresed mixture are obtained (I) by detection of the individual markers, each image being represented by detection of a marker different from the others. One resultant electronic image (I) of the obtained at least two electronic images is created (II) and analyzed in order to identify spot analysis areas (III). The identified spot analysis areas are applied on the respective at least two electronic images for evaluating said areas in order to detect spots representing components of said cell extracts (IV).
