A coated article, such as a proppant, includes a base substrate and one or more polyurethane based coatings on an outer surface of the base substrate. The one or more polyurethane based coatings including the reaction product of an isocyanate component that has at least one isocyanate and an isocyanate-reactive component that has one or more simple polyols and one or more polyether monols at a ratio from 1:18 to 18:1. An isocyanate index is greater than 0.2 and less than 1.0.

Polyurethane based proppant coatings

A detergent composition comprises a trisiloxane having at least one carbinol functional group. The trisiloxane comprises the reaction product of (A) an initial trisiloxane and (B) an organic compound. Component (A) has a pendant silicon-bonded functional group selected from a hydrogen atom, an epoxy-containing group, an ethylenically unsaturated group, and an amine group. Typically, component (A) is free of certain terminal silicon-bonded functional groups and is free of polyoxyalkylene groups. Component (B) has a functional group reactive with the pendant silicon-bonded functional group of component (A), and has at least one hydroxyl functional group. The trisiloxane may be of the following general formula (I): (RSiO)(RRSiO)(RSiO) (I). In formula (I), each Ris an independently selected hydrocarbyl group. Rmay be selected from the groups (i) to (x) described herein, each of the groups having at least one carbinol group. Typically, the trisiloxane has 1-6 carbinol groups.

A silicone material is provided. The silicone material is an organopolysiloxane or acid-neutralized salt thereof that contains a side-chain bonded hydrophilic group having a tertiary-amine structure and represented by the general formula:&#x2014;CH&#x2014;O&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH(OH)&#x2014;CH&#x2014;N(R)(R)wherein q is a number ranging from 1 to 6, and wherein each of Rand Ris independently a halogen-substituted or non-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group or an alkanol group. At least one of Rand Rhas a hydroxyl group, provided the total number of hydroxyl groups in Rand Ris at most three (3). Any of Rand Rdoes not have a nitrogen atom in the group. The silicone material has a number of beneficial properties.

Cosmetic composition comprising hydrophilic organosilanes

The present disclosure relates to compositions comprising: an organosilane having the formula: (R)(3-n) (RO)SiRO(CHCHO)(CHO)Rwherein: n is 1 or 2; a&#x2265;1, b may vary from 0 to 30, with the proviso a&#x2265;b; Ris a hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms; Ris hydrogen or an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; Ris a divalent hydrocarbon group containing 2 to 12 carbon atoms; and Ris hydrogen, R, or an acetyl group; and at least one of a thermoplastic resin, a thermoset resin, and an elastomer. The present organosilane compositions may be useful for treating various surfaces to render them, among other things, more hydrophilic.

When a hydrophobic non-volatile solvent and a hydrophobic non-volatile high melting point material with a melting point in the range of 60&#xb0; C. and 100&#xb0; C. are combined with a hydrophobic volatile solvent which compatibilizes the hydrophobic non-volatile solvent and the hydrophobic non-volatile high melting point material and the hydrophobic non-volatile high melting point material is selected to be at least partially incompatible with the hydrophobic non-volatile solvent in the absence of the hydrophobic volatile solvent, the resulting composition may be applied to skin to reduce adhesion of unwanted particles to the skin.
