The invention relates to histidine-rich glycoprotein (HRGP) polypeptides and the use of these polypeptides. The invention includes methods for the inhibition of angiogenesis by administering an HRGP polypeptide. The invention also includes pharmaceutical compositions and articles of manufacture comprising HRGP polypeptides, antibodies and receptors that bind to an HRGP polypeptide, HRGP-depleted plasma and polynucleotides, vectors and host cells that encode HRGP polypeptides.

Histidine-rich glycoprotein

The invention relates to the cloning of two novel protein tyrosine phosphatases. Nucleic acid sequences encoding these phosphatases (PTPL1 and GLM-2) as well as anti-sense sequences are also provided. The recombinantly produced PTPL1 and GLM-2 proteins also are provided, as well as antibodies to these proteins. Methods relating to isolating the phosphatases, using the nucleic acid sequences, and using the phosphatases also are provided.

Nucleic acids coding for GLM-2, a novel protein tyrosine phosphatase

Purified protein known as platelet TGF-.beta.1-BP (transforming growth factor-.beta.1-binding protein) is described. The protein is useful for purposes such as the production of antisera which are useful in identifying complexes containing the binding protein, as well as in formation of labeled probes. Also described are purified DNA which expresses the protein, as well as messenger RNA translated into the protein. The protein contains 16 epidermal growth factors (EGF) like repeats, and 3 repeats not found in other proteins. The DNA for the protein is found to contain consensus sequences for hydroxylation of asparagine/aspartic acid residues, and, in the purified protein beta hydroxylated asparagine residues were found.
