A system is provided having one or more charging stations that are electrically coupled with a power distribution grid and that may selectively couple with one or more energy storage devices; and a controller that may control transfer of electric power between the one or more charging stations, the one or more energy storage devices, and the power distribution grid. The controller may determine the amount of electric power transferred based at least in part on one or more assessment values.

According to some embodiments, system and methods are provided comprising receiving, via a communication interface of a parameter development module comprising a processor, a defined geometry for one or more parts, wherein the parts are manufactured with an additive manufacturing machine, and wherein a stack is formed from one or more parts; fabricating the one or more parts with the additive manufacturing machine based on a first parameter set; collecting in-situ monitoring data from one or more in-situ monitoring systems of the additive manufacturing machine for one or more parts; determining whether each stack should receive an additional part based on an analysis of the collected in-situ monitoring data; and fabricating each additional part based on the determination the stack should receive the additional part. In-situ monitoring system assisted material and parameter development for additive manufacturing

Determining a quality score for a part manufactured by an additive manufacturing machine based on build parameters and sensor data without the need for extensive physical testing of the part. Sensor data is received from the additive manufacturing machine during manufacture of the part using a first set of build parameters. The first set of build parameters is received. A first algorithm is applied to the first set of build parameters and the received sensor data to generate a quality score. The first algorithm is trained by receiving a reference derived from physical measurements performed on at least one reference part built using a reference set of build parameters. The quality score is output via the communication interface of the device.

System and methods for determining a quality score for a part manufactured by an additive manufacturing machine

A system for generating hazard alerts is provided. The system includes a plurality of sensor units including a plurality of sensors and a locating device, and a hazard analyzing (HA) computing device configured to communicate with the sensor units and including at least one memory device configured to store a scene definition, the scene definition defining a coordinate space of a worksite, and at least one processor configured to receive, from the sensors, a plurality of sensor measurements, receive, from the locating device of each sensor unit, at least one coordinate of the coordinate space, determine, based on the at least one coordinate, a location of the sensor unit during each sensor measurement, and determine, for at least a first sensor unit, that an alert condition is present based on the scene definition, the sensor measurements, and the determined location associated with the first sensor unit.

Systems and methods for generating hazard alerts for a site using wearable sensors

A system for generating hazard alerts is provided. The system includes a sensor unit including a plurality of sensors and a locating device and a hazard analyzing (HA) computing device configured to communicate with the sensor unit. The HA computing device includes a memory device and a processor configured to receive, from the plurality of sensors, a plurality of sensor measurements, receive, from the locating device, a plurality of sensor locations, determine, based on the received locations, a location of the sensor unit during each sensor measurement of the plurality of sensor measurements, compute, based on at least one of the plurality of sensor measurements and the determined locations, a plurality of sub-risk scores, compute a risk score based on the sub-risk scores, and determine that a first alert condition is present in response to the risk score being greater than a threshold risk score.

Systems and methods for generating hazard alerts using quantitative scoring

A system for detecting and mapping hazards is provided. The system includes at least one sensor unit including a plurality of sensors and a locating device and a hazard mapping (HM) computing device. The HM computing device includes at least one processor configured to receive, from the plurality of sensors, a plurality of sensor measurements, receive, from the locating device, a plurality of sensor locations, determine, based on the sensor locations, a location of the sensor unit during each sensor measurement of the plurality of sensor measurements, identify, for each determined location, a first location identifier of a first plurality of location identifiers, compare each sensor measurement corresponding to the first location identifier to a reference sensor level of the identified first location identifier, and determine that an alert condition is present based on the comparison.

Systems and methods for mapping hazards using wearable sensors

A system includes a control unit having one or more processors and a communication interface. The communication interface is configured to communicate with one or more charging stations that are electrically coupled to receive electrical power from a power distribution grid and that are configured to selectively charge one or more energy storage devices connected to the charging stations. The one or more processors are configured to generate first control signals for communication by the communication interface to the one or more charging stations to control transfer of reactive and/or active power from the charging stations to the power distribution grid. The control signals are generated based at least in part on a load cycle profile of one or more electric machines electrically coupled to the power distribution grid.

System and method of power control for an energy storage charging station

A multi-energy storage device system includes an electric drive coupled to a load, a DC link coupled to the electric drive, and a bi-directional voltage converter having an output channel coupled to the DC link and an input channel. A first energy storage device (ESD) is coupled to the input channel, and a switch is coupled to the DC link and to a second ESD. A system controller causes the switch to couple the second ESD to the DC link for delivering energy stored in the second ESD to the electric drive. The system controller also causes the voltage converter to convert a voltage of the first ESD to a higher voltage and to deliver the higher voltage to the DC link, wherein the higher voltage is greater than the voltage of the second ESD and causes the switch to decouple the second ESD from the DC link.

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a method including receiving first impact data. The method includes receiving second impact data. The method includes applying a first filter to both the first impact data and the second impact data. The method includes applying a second filter to both the first impact data and the second impact data. Filtering includes time and frequency based discriminating filter to isolate specific signatures that representatively indicate impact signatures generated by the sand on the interrogator. The method includes comparing the first impact data and the second impact data for corresponding signatures. The method includes identifying a corresponding signature in both the first impact data and the second impact data. The method includes determining the corresponding signature meets a threshold criterion. The method includes determining one or more particulate properties based at least in part on the corresponding peak.

System and method for assessing sand flow rate

A system includes a control unit having a processor and a communication interface. The communication interface is configured to communicate with one or more charging stations that are electrically coupled to receive electrical power from a power distribution grid and that are configured to selectively charge one or more energy storage devices connected to the charging stations. The processor is configured to generate first control signals for communication by the communication interface to the one or more charging stations to control transfer of reactive and/or active power from the charging stations to the power distribution grid. The control signals are generated based at least in part on a load cycle profile of one or more electric machines electrically coupled to the power distribution grid.

An apparatus for positioning a vehicle includes an alignment sensor that has a field of view and a vehicle alignment system operatively connected to the alignment sensor and to at least one positioning system of the vehicle. Movement of the vehicle varies an appearance of a fiducial surface within the alignment sensor's field of view. The vehicle alignment system is configured to implement a method that includes monitoring the appearance of the fiducial surface to the alignment sensor, comparing the appearance of the fiducial surface to a pre-determined set of benchmark appearances, and operating the at least one positioning system based on a determination by the vehicle alignment system of whether the appearance of the fiducial surface to the alignment sensor satisfies a pre-determined target appearance that corresponds to a desired location and position of the vehicle relative to a fixed location.

Apparatus and method for automated positioning of a vehicle

A battery exchange apparatus (e.g., for a battery exchange station positioned at a wayside location of a vehicle route) includes a receptacle mounted to at least one rail for lateral movement along the rail and for pivotal movement around a working axis generally orthogonal to the rail. The receptacle has an open end for receiving a battery from a direction generally orthogonal to the working axis. The apparatus further includes a recharge connector provided within the receptacle and opposite the open end of the receptacle. The open end of the receptacle includes at least two laterally flared surfaces, which are configured to impose at least one of lateral motion or pivotal motion on the receptacle in order to align the receptacle to the battery that is at least one of laterally or angularly misaligned from a lateral midline of the receptacle.
