A wireless network may include a PCELL base station, an SCELL base station, and user equipment (UE) that communicate using standalone carrier aggregation. The UE may receive PCELL signals during first measurement periods, may perform first measurements on the PCELL signals, may receive SCELL signals during second measurement periods, and may perform second measurements on the SCELL signals. When a scheduled reporting time approaches, the UE may compare a duration between a most recent of the second measurement periods and the reporting time to a threshold. If the duration is less than the threshold, the UE may include the most recent second measurement in a measurement report transmitted at the scheduled reporting time. When the duration exceeds the threshold, the receiver may perform a third measurement on the SCELL signals during an unscheduled period prior to the reporting time and may include the third measurement in the measurement report.

Systems and methods for standalone carrier aggregation handover

Devices and associated methods for operating a dual-subscriber identity module (SIM) dual-standby (DSDS) user equipment device (UE) configured with a first SIM and a second SIM. The UE performs communications with a first cellular network using the first SIM and a first radio resource control (RRC) connection, and receives a request to perform a higher priority communication using the second SIM. In response to the request to perform the higher priority communication, the UE transmits a request to the first network to suspend the first RRC connection. After transmission of the request to suspend the first RRC connection, the UE receives a message from the first network to place the first RRC connection in an inactive state, and initiates a timer, wherein the timer is used to determine whether the first RRC connection remains in the inactive state or transitions to an idle state.

User equipment having multiple subscriber identity modules with improved suspend / resume operation

A device, system and method for a user equipment (UE) to report a network resource and capability state to a network for coordinating network resource allocations. The UE is configured to establish a first connection to a first network based on a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of the UE and further configured to establish a second connection to a second network based on a second SIM of the UE. The method includes determining an upcoming first change of a state of the UE with respect to the first connection and transmitting, to the first network, an indication of the first change of state of the UE. The method further includes changing the state of the UE with respect to the first connection.

Reporting framework for dynamic UE capabilities

Aspects are described for a user equipment (UE) comprising a transceiver configured to enable wireless communication with a base station; and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured to receive a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource configuration from the base station, wherein the SRS resource configuration indicates at least a first SRS resource and a second SRS resource. The processor is further configured to transmit a first SRS via the first SRS resource to the base station using a first antenna coupled to the transceiver and transmit a second SRS via the second SRS resource to the base station using a second antenna coupled to the transceiver. The processor is further configured to receive an SRS resource indicator (SRI) from the base station based on at least one of the transmission of the first SRS or the second SRS; select the first antenna based on the SRI indicating the first SRS resource; and transmit uplink data to the base station using the first antenna.

Method of codebook sounding reference signal (SRS) antenna mapping to improve uplink performance

Systems and methods related to 'on/off' determinations regarding the performance of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring during connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) on duration windows are disclosed herein. In some cases, a radio access network (RAN) predicts whether a downlink (DL) packet for a UE will arrive at a buffer of the RAN prior to an end of a CDRX on duration window of the UE, and sends a downlink control information (DCI) with a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a power-saving radio network temporary identifier (PS-RNTI) (DCP) for the CDRX on duration window indicating whether or not the UE should perform PDCCH monitoring during the CDRX on duration window based on the prediction. In some cases, a UE determines a current state of DL traffic and adaptively uses DCP monitoring based on the current state of the traffic. Aggregation level adaptation by the RAN is also discussed.

Systems and methods for connected mode discontinuous reception on/off determinations

Systems, methods, and apparatuses disclosed herein can mitigate transmitting latency to improve the quality of a voice or the video call. These systems, methods, and apparatuses reset a transmitting latency timer upon retrieving a packet from a transmitting buffer. Thereafter, these systems, methods, and apparatuses start the count of the transmitting latency timer as the packet is being processed. And these systems, methods, and apparatuses compare the transmitting latency timer e with a transmitting latency threshold as these systems, methods, and apparatuses are processing a packet for transmission. These systems, methods, and apparatuses can drop the packet and/or can select another packet for processing in response to the transmitting latency timer exceeding the transmitting latency threshold to mitigate the transmitting latency.

Transmission latency mitigation for voice over new radio (VoNR)

This disclosure relates to techniques for multi-RAT and DSDA capable wireless devices to handle frame blanking in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may establish wireless links according to a first radio access technology and a second radio access technology. The wireless device may determine to perform transmit and receive blanking for one or more antennas of the wireless device for the first radio access technology to perform sounding reference signal transmissions for the second radio access technology based at least in part on a band combination for the wireless links. The wireless device may determine a modification to channel state feedback reporting for the first radio access technology based at least in part on the transmit and receive blanking. The wireless device may perform channel state feedback reporting using the determined modification.

Handling transmit and receive blanking for multi-RAT and DSDA capable wireless devices

This disclosure relates to techniques for performing wireless communications using a split bearer. A user equipment device may perform a recovery operation for a lost uplink packet. The recovery operation may be in response to an indication from the network or may be initiated autonomously by the device.

Systems, methods, and mechanisms for performing ROHC header compression on TCP packets with MPTCP option enabled. A compressor may determine that a first portion of the stream of data packets is formatted according to the transmission control protocol (TCP) with a multipath TCP (MPTCP) option enabled. The compressor may establish context with a corresponding decompressor and may operate in one of three modes of compression based on the context. In some embodiments, when the context indicates that the corresponding decompressor supports decompression of TCP data packets with MPTCP option enabled, the compressor may operate in a first or second mode of compression. In some embodiments, when the context indicates that the corresponding decompressor does not support decompression of TCP data packets with MPTCP option enabled, the compressor may operation in a third mode of compression.

ROHC header compression for MPTCP

Some embodiments relate to a user equipment device (UE), and associated methods for performing ROHC header compression on TCP packets with MPTCP option enabled. In some embodiments, a compressor may determine that a first portion of the stream of data packets is formatted according to the transmission control protocol (TCP) with a multipath TCP (MPTCP) option enabled. The compressor may establish context with a corresponding decompressor and may operate in one of three modes of compression based on the context. In some embodiments, when the context indicates that the corresponding decompressor supports decompression of TCP data packets with MPTCP option enabled, the compressor may operate in a first or second mode of compression. In some embodiments, when the context indicates that the corresponding decompressor does not support decompression of TCP data packets with MPTCP option enabled, the compressor may operation in a third mode of compression.

A compressor may obtain information indicative of a transmit delay representative of a time duration that elapses between creation (e.g. by the compressor) of a packet and the transmission of the packet, e.g. over a wireless link. The transmit delay may be determined based at least on information indicative of the uplink capacity of the cellular network. The uplink capacity may be determined/obtained based on the uplink throughput and uplink power headroom. When the compressor receives a negative acknowledgement transmission/packet from the decompressor, if the transmit delay is not greater than a specified threshold value, the compressor may process the received negative acknowledgement packet. If the transmit delay is greater than the specified threshold value, the compressor may first discard the buffered compressed packet scheduled to be transmitted next to the decompressor, and transmit an initialization and refresh (IR) or IR dynamic packet to the decompressor instead.
