A jet pump for a nuclear reactor includes a riser and an inlet mixer having a set of nozzles and a mixing section for receiving coolant flow from the nozzles and suction flow from an annular space between the reactor vessel and the shroud core. To minimize or eliminate electrostatic deposition of charged particulates carried by the coolant on interior wall surface of the inlet-mixer of the jet pump, and also to inhibit stress corrosion cracking, the interior wall surfaces of the nozzles and mixing section are coated with a ceramic oxide such as TiO and Ta O to thicknesses of about 0.5-1.5 microns.

A retaining tool for a telescoping refueling arm in a nuclear reactor, the retaining tool includes a plurality of support members coupled to a plurality of plates. The retaining tool includes a first plate having a first and a second side, a second plate spaced apart from the first plate, and a third plate having a first and a second side The third plate is spaced apart from the second plate so that the second plate is located between the first and third plates. The second side of the first plate engages the roller housings of the mast outer tube assembly, and the first side of the third plate engages the roller housings of one of the intermediate tube assembly to prevent the intermediate tube from extending and thus permitting the inner tube of the mast to fully extend.

Refueling mast retaining tool for a nuclear reactor

A work platform includes a first elongate side section, a second elongate side section, and a floor section. The first and second side sections each includes a lower beam, an upper beam, and a plurality of support members extending between and coupled to the upper and lower beam. The floor section includes a plurality of cross beams extending between and coupled to the first and second side sections, and a floor panel supported by the cross beams. The work platform also includes a crane assembly movably coupled to the first side section. The crane assembly is longitudinally movable along first side section. The upper beams, lower beams, support members, cross beams, floor panel, and the crane assembly are fabricated from fiber reinforced plastic.
