An ultra violet stable polyester membrane with a polyacrylic coating on one side and a coated pressure sensitive adhesive coating on its other side capable of allowing water vapor to pass through it. The pressure sensitive adhesive is formed of a copolymer comprising a backbone of n-butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, and vinyl acetate which is mixed with at least one surfactant and emulsified to produce air bubbles which form pores when the copolymer is set with about 80% to about 90% of the pore sizes ranging from about 200 microns to about 300 microns and being uniformly distributed to form a flow path through the pressure sensitive adhesive.

A building wrap membrane comprising a sheet of spunbonded polypropylene fabric member with integral pressure sensitive permeable adhesive coated on the back of the member and a drainage matrix secured to the front surface of the member, the drainage matrix being comprised of individual thermoplastic threads randomly laid down to form a net and secured together by heat bonding with the threads formed into spaced rows with a channel therebetween.

Building membrane with drainage matrix and horizontal adhesive portions

A building structural component, such as a wall, roof, ceiling, floor, or the like, is resistant to weather and moisture while facilitating the drying and elimination of water vapor and liquid water. The component includes a vapor-permeable membrane that resists penetration of liquids including water, but that permits gases including water vapor to pass through the membrane to resist buildup of moisture in the building component. A batten, such as an insulated batten, forms a cavity in the building component to facilitate air circulation, and reduces heat flow through structural studs of the building component to increase the overall insulation value of the finished component.
