A fish farm with a float ring, and a net fixed to the float ring. The float is flexible and is designed with an exterior walkway and interior room for personnel. At least one door or hatch provides access between the exterior walkway and the interior room for personnel.

A roof cover for a fish farm, in which solar cells may be arranged on the roof cover to collect solar energy, and where the roof cover is resistant to weather conditions, and where the roof cover provides a controlled environment for fish farming by protecting it from wind and weather.

A deep draft semi-submersible production and drilling platform unit with dry trees is described. The platform unit preferably comprises four columns, a ring pontoon, a two-axis symmetrical hull with draft in the range of 100 to 155 feet, top-tensioned risers with push or pull tensioners of preferred combined vertical stiffness of 10% to 30% of the platform water plane stiffness, a wellbay with a well spacing in the range of 12 to 18 feet, a riser guiding system supported by the pontoons or at an elevated level, topside facilities supported by a box type of deck structure, mooring lines, and catenary risers.

Dry-tree semi-submersible production and drilling unit

In a substructure ( ) for a floating oil or gas production platform, an arrangement to tension a plurality of risers ( ) extending from the sea bed up to the substructure, the arrangement comprising: a conventional hydraulic tensioner/heave compensator ( ) for each riser, in which there is a soft spring formed by a piston cylinder combination acting against an accumulator, the heave compensators for the risers being disposed to compensate for vertical oscillations of relatively short period (e.g. from 1 second to about 5 minutes) between the risers and a vertically adjustable Xmas tree deck ( ); and a vertical position adjustment system ( ) capable of intermittent operation to adjust the vertical position of the Xmas tree deck ( ) relative to the floating substructure ( ) to compensate for longer term changes which would otherwise cause the individual riser's tension or stroke position to depart from its target value/range; the Xmas tree deck vertical position adjustment system being normally located in one particular position within its range of movement to compensate for the longer term changes.

Riser tensioning system

A surface vessel is anchored almost geostationarily by a turret rotatable relative to the vessel about a vertical axis and having mooring cables extending to the seabed. A well is drilled from a drilling section in the vessel at a distance from the axis of rotation of the turret. The drilling is performed using a drill string through a riser extending from the seabed to the drilling section, which riser can be broken and shut off between the seabed and the vessel. By manipulating (hauling in and slackening) the mooring cables, the vessel is held in position so that the derrick is kept almost geostationary relative to the well during drilling operations. The system includes a surface vessel, a turret rotatable relative to the vessel about a vertical axis and which can be anchored to the seabed by a plurality of mooring cables, and a riser extending from the seabed to the vessel through which the well can be drilled with a drill string from a derrick in a drilling section on board the vessel. The turret and the drilling section are arranged so as to be spaced apart in the longitudinal direction of the vessel. The riser is arranged in a circular sector around the turret which is free of mooring cables and possible production risers. The turret includes elements for manipulating (hauling in/slackening) the mooring cables. The riser is capable of breaking and being shut off between the seabed and the vessel.
