Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing techniques for support mobility in a wireless network for user equipments (UEs) with varying capabilities. A UE can receive a first system information from a serving base station, where the first system information includes a UE capability condition associated with a neighbor base station, and determine whether a UE capability meets the UE capability condition associated with the neighbor base station. When the UE capability condition is met, the UE can determine whether a first measurement of a first reference signal received from the serving base station and a second measurement of a second reference signal received from the neighbor base station satisfy a threshold condition. When the threshold condition is met, the UE can obtain a second system information from the neighbor base station, indicating the UE has performed handover to the neighbor base station.

Mobility support for user equipments with varying capabilities in a wireless network

Embodiments described herein include methods, systems, and apparatuses for allowing a user equipment (UE) that supports dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) with uplink (UL)-shift to access a cell and barring UEs that do not support DSS with UL-shift. Embodiments may use a cell barring field in a master information block and additional filters to indicate a barring state for a network node.

A first communication device receives a first data unit from a second communication device via one or more communication channels. The first data unit includes an indication of a first set of one or more sub-channels allocated to the first communication device, and the first data unit is configured to prompt the first communication device to transmit channel availability information as part of a subsequent orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission. The first communication device determines channel availability information for the one or more communication channels, and when the first communication device determines that at least one of the communication channels is idle, the first communication device transmits a second data unit to the second communication device in one or more sub-channels allocated to the first communication device as part of the OFDMA transmission, the second data unit including the channel availability information.

Determining channel availability for orthogonal frequency division multiple access operation

Various methods and apparatus are disclosed for mitigating interference between communications between different radio access technologies in a communication device. Methods and apparatus include communicating between a first communication device and a second communication device according to a first communication protocol, and communicating between the first communication device and a third communication device according to a second communication protocol. The methods and apparatus further include determining a first time interval associated with when data is to be transmitted between the first communication device and the second communication device according to the first communications protocol. The methods and apparatus also include sending to the third communication device, an indication of a second time interval to prompt the third communication device not transmit to the first communication device during the second time interval, wherein the second time interval corresponds to the first time interval.

Method and system for mitigating interference between different radio access technologies utilized by a communication device

A system including an interference module. The interference module is configured to determine, based on first data to be transmitted from a wireless communication device, information about interference predicted to be caused by the first data being transmitted, and provide, to a receiver of the wireless communication device, the information about the predicted interference. A component of the receiver of the wireless communication device is configured to receive, from the interference module, the information about the predicted interference, and adjust, for a duration of the predicted interference, a function performed by the component of the receiver. The function performed by the component of the receiver is related to processing a signal received by the receiver of the wireless communication device.

Method and apparatus for mitigating the effect of certain types of interference on a signal received in a wireless network

A first communication device determines one or more parameters related to a format of a media access control layer (MAC) data unit for an uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) transmission. The format of the MAC data unit for the UL MU transmission is different than a format of a MAC data unit for an UL single user (SU) transmission. The first communication device generates one or more data units that include the one or more parameters. The first communication device transmits the one or more data units to a plurality of second communication devices to inform the plurality of second communication devices of the format of the MAC data unit for UL MU transmissions by the plurality of second communication devices to the first communication device.

A described system includes a first radio configured to wirelessly transmit to a first station in accordance with a first wireless communication technology via uplink periods that are scheduled by the first station; a second radio configured to wirelessly communicate with a second station in accordance with a second wireless communication technology; and a controller coupled with the first and second radios, the controller being configured to select for puncturing one or more of the uplink periods based on information about types of data to be transmitted respectively in the uplink periods, puncture, independently of the first station, the one or more selected uplink periods by causing the first radio to terminate transmissions to the first station during the selected uplink period(s), and cause the second radio to receive data from the second station during the selected uplink period(s).

The code rate selecting module is configured to select a code rate of k/n to encode k units of data into n units of data using a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code, where k and n are integers greater than 1, and k&#x3c;n. Systems and methods are provided for detecting a received synchronization signal. The method includes receiving, at a receiver, a signal from a transmitter and the signal includes the received synchronization signal. The method includes processing the received signal and a plurality of candidate synchronization signals to obtain a plurality of correlation signals. Each candidate synchronization signal is associated with one of the plurality of correlation signals. The method includes selecting, based at least in part on the plurality of correlation signals, one of the plurality of candidate synchronization signals. The selected candidate synchronization signal is correlated with the received synchronization signal. The method includes detecting the received synchronization signal based at least in part on (i) the received signal, and (ii) a characteristic obtained from the correlation signal that is associated with the selected candidate synchronization signal.

Systems and methods for detecting a primary synchronization signal in a wireless communication system

In a method of operating a device configured to communicate according to at least a first communication protocol and a second communication protocol, a time division multiplexing (TDM) pattern is obtained. The TDM pattern is defined for communication according to the first communication protocol is obtained. The TDM pattern defines communication periodicity that includes a scheduled period and an unscheduled period. A guard interval is reserved within the unscheduled period, and the unscheduled period is used for communication according to the second communication protocol. The guard interval is used to transition to an inactive state with respect to the second communication protocol.

In-device coexistence of multiple wireless communication technologies

The present disclosure describes techniques and apparatuses for scheduling use of radio resources in a wireless network. In some aspects a method is described that includes receiving an indication from a mobile device of an in-device coexistence problem, and determining, from the parameters in the received indication, one or more component carriers of the carrier aggregation affected by the in-device coexistence problem. The method also includes applying a time-domain solution and/or a frequency domain solution to at least one of the one or more affected component carriers to solve the in-device coexistence problem.

The present disclosure describes systems and techniques relating to wireless communications by devices that employ more than one wireless communication technology. According to an aspect of the described systems and techniques, a device includes: a first radio configured to communicate wirelessly with a first station in accordance with a first wireless communication technology, a second radio configured to communicate wirelessly with a second station in accordance with a second wireless communication technology, a controller configured to (i) terminate scheduled portions of time for sending communications from the first radio to the first station in favor of receiving communications from the second station to the second radio and (ii) restrict which of all available scheduled portions of time for sending communications from the first radio to the first station are provided for termination based on information about types of data transmitted in respective ones of the available scheduled portions of time.
