A mold for forming a wind turbine blade is formed in two halves, each halfcomprising a sandwich structure of a perforated outer layer, an inner aluminum honeycomb structure and an inner impermeable heat-conducting layer. An article in the form of a mat of glass fiber impregnated with epoxy resin is placed in the mold. A supply chambersupplies heated pressurized air to the mold which passes into the honeycomb core of the mold through the perforated outer layer, and back through the outer layer into two exhaust chambers. A row of supply conduitsand exhaust conduitsconnect the exhaust chambersto the supply chamber. The air in each conduitis heated by a respective heat exchangersupplied with heated water. The heated air cures the epoxy resin, and the mold is then cooled by supplying cold water to the heat exchangers, which, in turn cools the air supplied to the mold. The water used to cool the mold is then re-used for the subsequent heating of another article placed in the mold, in order to save energy. Alternatively, the article in the mold may be cooled using a separate supply of air which is not cooled in the heat exchangers

A fixing device for fixating a segment of a wind turbine blade to a mold in which the blade segment is manufactured, wherein the blade segment has a fixating portion. The fixing device comprises: a first portion for removably fixating the blade segment at its fixating portion to the mold; and a second portion for fixating the fixing device to the mold.

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade having a first member with a first joining surface and a second member with a second joining surface. The method includes applying at least one resin barrier to one or both of the joining surfaces, and subsequently locating the first and the second members adjacent each other so that they are joined by the at least one resin barrier. Hereby at least one cavity is formed between the first and second joining surfaces, which cavity is delimited by the at least one resin barrier. Subsequently resin is filled into the at least one cavity, and the resin is cured. The first member may be a blade shell, and the second member may be a blade spar.

Method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade comprising two members being joined by adhesion

A bracket is described for clamping a mould to a supporting structure. The bracket includes a first part and a second part for attaching to the mould and to the supporting structure, respectively, or vice versa. The first and second parts are connected together and configured to provide constrained relative movement along a first axis to accommodate thermal expansion of the mould relative to the supporting structure in a first direction parallel to the first axis. The first and second parts of the bracket are connected via an articulated joint that allows the first and second parts to pivot relative to one another without moving the first axis such that the bracket can independently accommodate misalignments between the mould and the supporting structure.

Within the field of wind turbine generators (WTG), to provide a consistent way of manufacturing a WT blade there is disclosed a blade mould and a blade spar fixture to support the spar in the mould so as to provide a fixed predetermined relative position, and preferably also orientation, between at least a root end, such as a bushing in the root end of the blade spar, and a root end of the mould. Overall consistency is also obtained in that hereby a blade with anticipated aerodynamic and strength characteristics is provided, among others in that at least adjacent to the root of the spar there is substantially the same distance for a cured adhesive between an innermost surface of each of blade shells and an outermost surface of the spar.
