The present invention concerns a calibration unit () for a roller nip gauge. The roller nip gauge has sensors for length or force measurement. The calibration unit () comprises an upper part () and a lower part (). The calibration unit () has means to place a part acting on a sensor element () of a sensor () during calibration in parallel with a surface () of the calibration unit () receiving the sensor ().

A system and a method for measuring the thickness of a layer of coating deposited on a substrate indirectly measures the thickness of the layer of coating on the substrate by measuring the thickness of layers of coating on a coating roller before and after the coating is transferred from the coating roller to the substrate. To measure the thickness of the layers of coating on the coating roller two sensors are used directed to respective layer on the coating roller. The sensors have IR radiators and IR detectors.

System and method for measuring the thickness of a layer of coating

An apparatus for radiometric measurement of thin fluid films includes a housing () enclosing means of radiation, a radiation guide, a reflector () and one or more detectors (). Radiometric measuring of thin fluid films

The present invention relates to radiometric measurement of a thin fluid film using absorption of IR radiation. At least one IR radiator is directed to send signals to an IR detector via a bed on which the fluid film is placed. The IR detector is set to receive IR radiation in a band around a characteristic absorption band of the fluid of the fluid film. The invention is developed for printing presses, where the thickness of fountain solution on the printing plate and the proportion of printing ink in an emulsion of printing ink and fountain solution may be controlled.
