The present panoramic video technique embodied in the unified client provides panoramic video and other data from various sources for live web-based conferencing applications. In one embodiment, the panoramic video is provided by a panoramic collaboration and communication device, termed a RoundTable Device (RTD). The RTD is a collaboration tool with a 360-degree camera and a microphone or microphone array that, together with the unified client, delivers an immersive conferencing experience that extends the meeting room across multiple locations. This enables live network meeting scenarios that were not possible before.

The embodiments described herein generally relate to methods and systems for tunneling arbitrary binary data between an HTTP endpoint and an arbitrary destination. Such tunneling of data is valuable in an environment, for example, in which a browser-based client communicates in the HTTP protocol and desires to exchange data with a remote endpoint understanding non-HTTP communications. A relay server is used as a 'middle man' to connect the client to the destination, and components supporting the necessary protocols for data exchange are plugged into the relay server. To achieve reliable and ordered transmission of data, the relay server groups sessions through the assignment of session identifiers and tracks the exchange of messages through the assignment of sequence and acknowledgment numbers. Further, the relay server provides for authenticating the HTTP endpoint with the destination and for handling other operations not available in the constrained environment of the Web-based client.

Method and system for reliable protocol tunneling over HTTP

Systems and methods for extracting data content items from a web page are provided. A template is created by labeling data content items of interest associated with a web page and generating a template Document Object Model (DOM) tree based on the labeled web page. DOM trees are also generated for additional web pages that contain data content items for which extraction may be desired. These DOM trees are compared to the template DOM tree to determine alignment there between. The aligned data content items may then be extracted from the additional web pages and indexed, as desired. Labeling the data content items of interest prior to generating a template DOM tree allows for the desired data content items to be specified and more accurately extracted from related and/or similarly structured web pages.

An information server may function as a centralized query broker that accepts queries from query clients, dispatches queries to potentially disparate data sources, and returns query results to query clients. An information server may centralize information access and security/control operations and may provide a set of uniform interfaces for accessing various types of data sources. A pluggable data source interface may be used for extending the data and actions that are available to an information server. The queries that arrive at the data sources are typically simple queries, which contain no sub-query addressing to a different data source. To make a data source pluggable, a data source may expose a standard interface and may store information about the data source's existence so that an information server will be able to determine, from the stored information, which data sources are available for responding to queries in the information server system.
