A radio access network (RAN) may comprise at least one transmission-reception point (TRP) configured to provide wireless connections to one or more User Equipment devices (UEs) in an area. The area is not predefined by a cell boundary. The RAN may be configured to: broadcast Scheduling and Synchronization Relation (SSR) information to a UE; and establish with the UE a transmission mode for the TRP.

In some implementations, a device may receive cell information regarding a current primary cell associated with a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE is further associated with a plurality of secondary cells. The device may determine, based on the cell information, that the UE is to be associated with a new primary cell, wherein the new primary cell is selected from the plurality of secondary cells. The device may generate configuration information indicating that: a particular secondary cell, of the plurality of secondary cells, is to become the new primary cell, and one or more other secondary cells, of the plurality of secondary cells, are to remain secondary cells. The device may provide, to the UE, the configuration information to configure the UE to communicate via the new primary cell.

The device may cause, based on receiving the indication of approval, the required QoS to be implemented by the MEC platform and network devices associated with the core network.

Systems and methods allow access stations to save power when no user equipment (UE) devices require service from the access station. The access station may enter a low power-consumption mode (or 'sleep mode') when the access station is inactive. The access station transmits a beacon signal when in the low power-consumption mode to indicate to UE devices in a coverage area of the access station that the access station is in the low power-consumption mode. The access station receives a wake-up signal from a device and, in response, exits the low power-consumption mode.

The method includes determining whether the E-SPID is in a first range of E-SPID values, wherein the first range of E-SPID values corresponds to a delay that exceeds a threshold, and interacting with a self-organizing network (SON) controller that interacts an operation administration maintenance (OAM) component to control and define a modified E-SPID based on network traffic and coverage in response to a determination that the E-SPID is in the first range of E-SPID values. The method further includes sending the modified E-SPID to at least one enhanced evolved node b (eNodeB) associated with the at least one MTC user device, wherein the at least one enhanced eNodeB is operable to perform access control and scheduling for the at least one MTC user device based on the E-SPID.

A system described herein may provide a mechanism for efficiently delivering messages to a User Equipment ('UE') associated with a wireless telecommunications network, such as a UE that is frequently in an inactive state. A message for the UE may be received and buffered. Once the network determines that the UE has transitioned from the inactive state to the active state (e.g., as detected by a Mobility Management Entity ('MME') or an Access and Mobility Management Function (&#x201c;AMF&#x201d;)), the buffered message may be provided to the UE using control plane signaling.
