A binder includes a polymer and ceramic particles modified with silane coupling agent. The polymer contains structural units derived from a first-type monomer, a second-type monomer, and a third-type monomer, and a molar ratio of the first-type monomer, the second-type monomer, and the third-type monomer is (50 to 58):(40 to 44):(2 to 6). The first-type monomer is selected from one or more compounds of formula I, the second-type monomer is selected from one or more compounds of formula II, and the third-type monomer is selected from one or more compounds of formula III.

A positive electrode plate includes a composite current collector, a functional coating, and a positive electrode active material layer, where the functional coating is disposed on at least one surface of the composite current collector, and is located between the composite current collector and the positive electrode active material layer; and the functional coating comprises a positive electrode active material, and a D50 particle size of the positive electrode active material is less than or equal to 5 μm. This can reduce the stress applied to the composite current collector during a cold pressing process without losing energy density. In addition, this also can mitigate misalignment of a metal layer and a polymer film due to inconsistent stretching extents, and alleviate problems such as cracking of the metal layer of the composite current collector and the metal layer tending to fall off from the polymer film.

A binder composition includes a polymer and ceramic particles, the polymer including structural units derived from a first-type monomer, a second-type monomer, and a third-type monomer, and a molar ratio of the first-type monomer, second-type monomer, and third-type monomer being (50 to 58):(40 to 44):(2 to 6); where the first-type monomer is selected from one or more compounds of formula I, the second-type monomer is selected from one or more compounds of formula II, and the third-type monomer is selected from one or more compounds of formula III. The binder improves the porosity of the separator, increases the ionic conductivity, and reduces the internal resistance, thereby enhancing the cycling performance of the secondary battery.

A battery cell includes an electrode assembly and a packaging bag configured to accommodate the electrode assembly. The electrode assembly includes a first electrode plate, a separator, and a second electrode plate that are stacked. A first tab is disposed on the first electrode plate. The first tab protrudes from the packaging bag. The first tab includes a connecting portion accommodated in the packaging bag. A first insulation layer is disposed on the connecting portion. The first insulation layer includes a free end towards the electrode assembly.
