An integrated circuit battery sensor and system thereof are provided. The battery sensor includes a voltage sensor configured to sample a voyage of a battery and a buffer in electrical communication with the voltage sensor and configured for scaling the sampled battery voltage and outputting a voltage signal proportional to the sampled battery voltage; wherein the voltage sensor is further configured for isolating the buffer from the battery. The voltage sensor includes a first capacitor coupled to a positive potential terminal of the battery and a second capacitor coupled to a negative potential terminal of the battery. The battery sensor includes a first die including a first and second input terminal configured for coupling to the positive and negative potential terminals of the battery; and a second die including the voltage sensor, wherein the first and second die are electrically isolated from each other.

Integrated battery voltage sensor with high voltage isolation, a battery voltage sensing system and methods therefor

An optically isolated circuit device includes a first opto-isolator circuit that is driven by a first clock signal, and the output of the first opto-isolator circuit is used to drive a phase-locked loop (PLL) that is configured to synthesize a second clock signal having a frequency that is a multiple of the first clock signal frequency. The second clock signal is used as an input to a suitable clocked circuit of a type that benefits from optical isolation, such as an analog-to-digital converter (ADC).

High immunity clock regeneration over optically isolated channel

A light sensor having a photocurrent subsection and an interface circuit is disclosed. The photocurrent subsection includes a photodetector, an amplifier, a diode and an impedance element. The first photodetector generates a current between a first node and a power rail in response to being illuminated with light. The interface circuit generates an output signal that is related to the logarithm of the intensity of light that is incident on the photodetector. The impedance element is constructed in a manner that compensates for the thermal dependency of the impedance through the diode. Additional photocurrent subsections can be added to further reduce the thermal dependency of the output signal.

Temperature-compensated high dynamic range optical receiver

An optical receiver having a photodetector, amplifier, feedback loop, and output circuit is disclosed. The photodetector generates a current between first and second nodes in response to being illuminated with light. The amplifier has an input connected to the first node and an output connected to a third node. The feedback path connects the third node to the first node, and includes a diode in series with a circuit element having an impedance greater than a predetermined value, the diode is connected between the first and fourth nodes. The output circuit is connected to the fourth node and provides an output signal to an external circuit. The output circuit can be configured to provide an output signal that is proportional to the logarithm of the intensity of the light that illuminates the photodetector.

High dynamic range optical receiver

An operational amplifier is described. The operational amplifier includes a first stage, a second stage, a third stage, and a fourth stage. The amplifier includes a nested transconductance-capacitance compensation configuration. The third stage includes class AB control mechanism. The fourth stage includes a class AB output stage.
