A system and method of performing a dry-dock operation on a floating vessel, while the floating vessel may maintain operations. The dry-docking may be performed by another vessel, such as a semi-submersible transport vessel. The method may include: submerging the semi-submersible transport vessel, adjusting the positions of the vessels until the vessel is over the deck of the semi-submersible transport vessel, securing the vessel on the deck of the semi-submersible transport vessel, raising both vessels, performing the dry-dock operation, lowering the vessel back into the water, and unsecuring vessel from the semi-submersible transport vessel. The system may include suitable elements to perform the method.

Method for dry-docking a floating unit

A vessel having an elongated shape, and being moored to the sea bed in a substantially fixed orientation. The vessel includes at least along its longitudinal sides, near keel level, two transverse skirts having such a width that the natural roll period of the vessel is above a predetermined period, the natural roll period of the vessel without the skirts being below the predetermined period.

During an Extended Well Test or Early Floating Production at an offshore hydrocarbon production site, where oil and gas hydrocarbons are produced by a production vessel, applicant stores the natural gas as pressured gas in a storage tank and occasionally transfers the pressured gas to a shuttle vessel which carries the gas to a site where it is used, as by pumping it into a natural gas pipeline. The transfer of natural gas to the shuttle can be accomplished by pumping it through a conduit extending between the vessels to a second tank on the shuttle, or can be accomplished by moving a gas-filled tank on the production vessel to the shuttle.

Offshore gas recovery

A vessel with drilling and workover capability is constructed rapidly in a shipyard or dry dock by using an existing vessel that has most of the required hull. Bow and stern sections of the existing vessel are separated to leave them at opposite ends of a shipyard space, and a mid hull section is built in that shipyard space in the usual manner by welding together steel plates. The bow and stern sections are moved against opposite ends of the mid hull section and welded to it. Topside equipment is already on the bow and stern sections, and is added to the new mid hull section.

Construction of FPDSO vessel

The invention relates to a mooring system with a first vessel for containing hydrocarbons having at its bow and/or stern a transverse arm and a fluid transfer mechanism of a duct connected to a tank on the first vessel and a coupling end for connecting to a second vessel. The second vessel is moored alongside the first vessel and is attached via at least one cable, extending from its bow in the length direction of the vessel, to a mooring end of the arm. The mooring end of the arm is situated at or near a longitudinal centerline of the second vessel. The arm, during use, is in a fixed position and a pulling force element is attached to the cable for applying a pulling force on the cable upon relative movement of the second vessel with respect to the arm. The force element allows a predetermined maximum displacement of the second vessel.

Side-by-side hydrocarbon transfer system

The invention relates to a floating offshore structure anchored to the sea bed. The floating offshore structure comprises a hull having longitudinal sides and transverse sides, bow and stern anchoring points for mooring a tanker vessel alongside the offshore structure, a deck at a predetermined height above sea level, hydrocarbon storage and/or processing devices being placed on the deck, a spacer member attached to the structure and projecting transversely from the sides for contacting a tanker vessel moored alongside the structure. The anchoring points of the structure comprise of quick release members, wherein the bow and/or stern anchoring points of the structure are situated on a deck which projects transversely from the hull of the structure substantially at the heights of anchoring points of the tanker vessel.

Enhanced side-by-side mooring construction

The invention relates to a mooring system comprising a hydrocarbon storage and/or processing unit () anchored to or resting on the sea bed () at an off shore location, and a vessel () moored alongside the storage and/or processing unit (), the storage and/or processing unit () comprising a hull and in a front part () and in a rear part () of the unit at least one support structure (') and with another end to a quay member (&#x2032;) suspended from the suspension member with one end attached to the support structure (&#x2032;) and with another end to a quay member (&#x2032;) suspended from the suspension member, the quay member (&#x2032;) comprising a shock-absorber contacting the vessel. The quay member comprising a mooring line attachment point, a cable extending from a mooring point on the front part of the vessel and on the rear part of the vessel respectively to a corresponding mooring line attachment point on the quay member, the mooring points on the vessel and the corresponding mooring line attachment points being spaced apart in a length direction of the vessel by a distance (LL) of at least 5 m, preferably at least 10 m.

The invention relates to a subsea pipeline system for connecting two hydrocarbon production, storage and/or processing structures. The subsea pipeline has a first duct section supported on the seabed, a bridging duct section extending across a lower seabed part, at a distance from the sea bed, and a second duct section supported on the sea bed. The first and second duct sections are connected to the bridging duct section via an articulation joint allowing movement of the bridging duct section in a length direction of the first and second duct sections. A first tensioning element exerts an upward force on the bridge duct sections and a second tensioning element exerts a downward force on the bridge duct section. The first and second tensioning elements include a mutual angle to exert a horizontal pulling force on the bridging duct section.

Subsea pipeline system

A vessel for exploration of hydrocarbons includes one or more risers extending from the vessel to the seabed, a hydrocarbon processing unit connected to the one or more risers and to a storage or transport structure for storing the processed hydrocarbons. The vessel is anchored to the seabed, the vessel includes a lifting member for lowering risers vertically towards the sea bed and for connecting a riser with a first end to a subsea hydrocarbon structure, which riser includes a connector on a second end, the vessel having a connector for attaching to the riser connector and for placing the riser in fluid connection with the processing unit.

A hydrocarbon transfer system includes a first structure carrying an articulated arm. The system has at a free end a first connector part, and a vessel comprising a second connector part, wherein each connector part comprises a housing with at least two fluid ducts within the housing. The ducts can be placed into sealing engagement along respective sealing faces, and a locking member for locking the housings of the connector parts together, wherein the fluid ducts in either the first or second connector are connected to a respective fluid swivel or flexible duct section to allow at least partial rotation of the ducts along their longitudinal axis, and are connected to a drive member for jointly rotating the ducts along a centreline of the connector parts.

An offshore hydrocarbon production system includes a vessel () with a turret (), and a fluid swivel () on the turret that is connected to risers () that extend to the sea floor (), wherein a drilling/workover rig () on the vessel can lower tubing () toward the sea floor without danger that the tubing will wrap about the risers when the hull weathervanes. The rig is mounted on the turret. Pipes () that extend from the rotatable part of the fluid swivel to fittings () on the hull (), are supported on a gantry () that is fixed to the hull and having a gantry middle portion () that extends over the turret. The gantry middle portion extends higher than the top () of the rig.

Offshore production system with drilling/workover rig

A system for using natural gas to safely provide large amounts (at least 30 megawatts) of electricity to consumers. The system includes a floating generating vessel () that lies offshore and carries one or more turbine-generator sets () that use natural gas as fuel and whose electricity output is delivered though a power line () that extends at least partially in the sea to a consumer. One consumer is a process vessel () that processes natural gas and that has transfer facilities () that transfer liquified gas to or from a tanker () that holds over 10,000 tons of liquified gas. Some of the gas is transferred from the process vessel through a conduit () in the sea to the generating vessel () to provide fuel. Another consumer is an onshore facility (). The generating and process vessels () are widely separated (e.g. at least 0.2 kilometer) to protect personnel in the event of a gas explosion or fire. The separate generating and process vessels enable rapid acquisition of the vessels, which is especially useful to quickly supply large quantities of electricity in newly developed areas.
