An exercise apparatus is for push- or pull-type manual exercises and comprises an axially elongated bar having a free end and a transverse bore located proximate to the free end. A ball is coupled to the free end. A base connector transversely extends into the transverse bore. A fastener fastens the ball to the base connector to thereby couple the ball to the free end.

Apparatuses for performing pull- or push-type manual exercises

A connector apparatus connects a first component of an exercise machine to a second component of the exercise machine. The connector apparatus comprises a rack coupled to the first component; a pinion gear coupled to the second component, the pinion gear being configured to mate with the rack such that the pinion gear can roll along the rack; a one-way bearing that allows the pinion gear to roll along the rack in a first direction and prevents the pinion gear from rolling along the rack in an opposite, second direction; and a handle that is coupled to the one-way bearing. The handle is configured to move back and forth between a first position wherein the pinion gear is mated with the rack and allowed by the one-way bearing to roll along the rack in the first direction and prevented by the one-way bearing from rolling along the rack in the second direction; and a second position wherein the pinion gear is separated from the rack and is freely movable in the first and second directions.

A strength training apparatus comprises a frame and press arm that is connected to a resistance arm at a pivot point so that the press arm is pivotable with respect to the resistance arm and so that the press arm and resistance arm are pivotable together with respect to the frame. A locking device is configured to retain the press arm in first and second fixed angular pivot positions with respect to the resistance arm. A resistance device is configured to resist pivoting movement of the press arm together with the resistance arm with respect to the frame. A biasing device is configured to bias the press arm with respect to the resistance arm so as to remove any slop in the locking device that otherwise would be caused by gravity, and so that an initial movement of the press arm is resisted by the resistance device.

The weight stack assembly comprises a plurality of primary weights and a plurality of secondary weights that are located next to the plurality of primary weights. A head plate is on the plurality of primary weights. A primary weight selector mechanism is on the head plate and is configured to couple a user force receiving member to one or more of the plurality of primary weights. A secondary weight selector mechanism is on the head plate and is configured to couple the head plate to a first secondary weight in the plurality of secondary weights, and to couple the head plate to a second secondary weight in the plurality of secondary weights. The secondary weight selector mechanism is configured to engage with the first secondary weight so that the first secondary weight remains balanced in the horizontal direction when a force is applied to the user force receiving member. The secondary weight selector mechanism is further configured to engage with the second secondary weight so that the first and second secondary weights remain balanced in the horizontal direction when the force is applied to user force receiving member.

Resistance training exercise apparatus provides load resistance with a vacuum load assembly, and has an adjustment mechanism controlling effective vector force between the vacuum load assembly and a user-engaged exercise member. The adjustment mechanism includes a user-controlled adjustment assembly adjustably varying the vector force. The adjustment assembly includes a coupling mechanism adjustably varying a lever arm distance of at least one of a gym cable and a cylinder cable along the adjustment assembly.

Resistance training exercise apparatus includes a boom arm pivotally mounted to a frame and having an anchor segment pivoting along a first arc about a first pivot point on the frame. A press arm is coupled to a resistance mechanism and is pivotally mounted to the anchor segment of the boom arm and pivots along a second arc about a second pivot point. The user may adjustably vary the location of the second pivot point of the press arm relative to the frame by pivoting the boom arm about the first pivot point.

The pulley is swivelable about a swivel axis along a shank mounted to the arm by a bearing housing cartridge supporting and locating the shank and insertable into a hollow end of the extension arm along an insertion direction coincident with the extension axis and the swivel axis and supporting the pulley for swiveling about the swivel axis along the shank.
