A knife and associated guide for the cutting of fibrous batt insulation products, as well as rigid foam board insulation products are described. The knife has a handle and blade, each oriented so as to maximize the ability to pull the blade through the material to be cut, while minimizing the muscular effort and strain required of the user. The guide is configured to easily compress batt insulation products and to be easily moved over the products for improved efficiency.

A hydronic system and method of use that will maintain normal system operating pressure while also reliably detecting even very small fluid losses in any closed loop fluid heat transfer system is described. The system includes a controller in communication with one or more pressure sensors and optionally one or more temperature sensors that provides one or more notifications when the pressure drops below predetermined levels.

Device and methodology for early detection of fluid loss and notification and system shutdown for a closed loop fluid heat transfer system

Setting and maintaining proper pre-charge air pressure in a diaphragm or bladder-type expansion tank of any fluid system is essential for safe and efficient operation of that system. In usual practice, pre-charge air pressure checks are done by emptying the system of fluid and connecting an analog air gauge to the air input of the expansion tank. In this invention a pressure sensor that is permanently coupled to the fluid volume of the expansion tank is used to also evaluate the pre-charge air pressure in the tank. By employing a single sensor for both fluid and pre-charge air pressure evaluation, the problem of inconsistent calibration between fluid sensing and air pre-charge measuring devices is eliminated. Using the same permanently installed sensor for every test or adjustment in a given system eliminates the problem of variations in calibration between different sensors or gauges used at different testing times.

Method for the indirect evaluation of pre-charge air pressure in a diaphragm-type or bladder-type expansion tank

A hydronic system and method of use that will maintain normal system operating pressure while also reliably detecting even very small fluid losses in any closed loop fluid heat transfer system is described. The system includes a controller having clock or timing functionality in communication with one or more pressure sensors and a fluid supply valve that provides one or more notifications when the pressure drops below predetermined levels during predetermined periods of time. Depending on the nature of the pressure loss, the system has the capability of opening a fluid supply valve to provide make up fluid and increase system pressure.

An integrated, electro-mechanical system to distribute anchor chain relatively equally in a yacht's/boat's/ship's anchor chain locker during recovery of the anchor. One embodiment of the Chain Flaker System invention will: (1) fit a Fleming F-78 chain locker and fit other vessels' similar chain lockers with minimal changes; (2) minimally obstruct access into the chain locker; (3) well handle 600' of &#xbd;&#x2033;, or more length of, smaller diameter chain in a Fleming F-78 and adapt to handle more, and/or larger diameter, chain and/or other vessels with similar access to, but different sized, chain lockers; (4) be economic, robust, reliable, and easy-to-maintain, including because intentionally simple mechanically (e.g. single hydraulic cylinder or linear servo unit of L-shaped chain distribution model or single hydraulic or electric driver ofshaped chain distribution model); and (5) be easy and safe to operate as essentially automatic with safety features to minimize risk of injury.
