A method of assembling a compressor system includes attaching at least two pulsation damper stages to a discharge port on a compressor, and attaching additional pulsation dampening stages if additional stages are desired. A compressor and discharge system is also disclosed.

A condenser module configured for use in a condenser is provided including a housing having a first longitudinal side that defines a first air inlet and an opposing second longitudinal side that defines a second air inlet. A heat exchanger assembly is positioned within the housing. The heat exchanger assembly includes at least one heat exchanger coil. A cross-section of the heat exchanger assembly is generally constant between a front side of the housing and an opposite back side of the housing. At least one of the front surface and the back surface is configured to abut an adjacent contact module. A fan assembly includes at least one fan generally aligned with a single heat exchanger coil in the heat exchanger assembly.

A method of operating an air conditioning system includes cooling a selected space with the air conditioning system. The air conditioning system includes two or more compressors and two or more crank case heaters. Each crank case heater of the two or more crank case heaters is operably connected to a compressor of the two or more compressors. Operation of the two or more compressors is stopped, thus initiating operation of the two or more crank case heaters. The air conditioning system is switched to a conservation mode, including de-powering at least one compressor of the two or more compressors and a connected at least one crank case heater or the two or more crank case heaters.

An air treatment module includes an air plenum, a heat exchanger tube and a bypass duct. The bypass duct has an inlet opening in flow communication with the air plenum in juxtaposition with a selected region of the heat exchanger and an outlet opening in flow communication with a zone of lower air pressure. The presence of the bypass duct improves air flow over the heat exchanger tube in the selected region.

Air treatment module

An inducer fan assembly includes a flow collector piece having a motor support surface, a toroidal collector, and a discharge region extending tangentially from the collector. A fan rotor is rotatably mounted relative to the motor support surface. The fan rotor includes a hub surface, and an outer circumferential edge. The fan rotor further includes a plurality of blades that extend from the hub surface. The plurality of blades extend from a leading edge to a trailing edge that extends beyond the outer circumferential edge. The plurality of blades include a first height and a second height that define a blade tip revolved contour. The collector is arranged radially outward from and axially off-set from the hub surface. An inlet casing piece is mounted to the flow collector piece. The inlet casing piece includes a contour that is substantially similar to the blade tip revolved contour of the fan rotor.

A compressor has first and second enmeshed rotors: rotating about first and second axes. The first rotor is supported by a bearing system carried by a bearing case. The bearing case has at least a first port to a discharge plenum. A first sound-absorbing material is positioned within the first port.

A method is provided for controlling operation of a compressor having an inlet and an outlet, a variable geometry diffuser communicated with the outlet, and inlet guide vanes communicated with the inlet, wherein the method includes the steps of: determining a loading parameter indicative of onset of surge; and independently controlling the inlet guide vanes and the variable geometry diffuser based upon the loading parameter so as to allow increase in efficiency and stable operation of the compressor.

Centrifugal compressor performance by optimizing diffuser surge control and flow control device settings

A compressor includes a housing and one or more working elements. A muffler is located downstream of the discharge plenum. A centerbody is located in the discharge plenum upstream of the muffler spanning a major portion of a length between a bearing case and the muffler.

A screw compressor is provided with a discharge chamber that receives alternating flows of compressed fluid from two compression chambers located on opposed sides of the screw compressor. The discharge chamber is provided with a central baffle plate separating the two flows. The baffle plate changes the fluid frequency of the system, and ensures that the fluid system will not operate at a frequency that approaches the natural frequency of the overall compressor, thus reducing undesirable vibrations. The baffle plate also reduces the magnitude of the fluctuations and the resultant noise.

A fan blade configuration for a radial fan includes support structure for the cantilevered portion of each blade. This support structure is preferably affixed to an upper circumferential ring of the radial fan and extends outwardly therefrom in support of the cantilevered portion of the blade. The support structure preferably extends along the cantilevered portion of the blade for a predefined distance. The distance is preferably expressed relative to a distance to a point at which the leading edge of the blade terminates. The predefined distance is also a function of the downward inclination of the support structure extending along the cantilevered portion. The support structure extends underneath the outer ring so as to define an aligning surface for the rearward portion of the respective fan blade.

Radial fan blade configuration

A ceiling mounted apparatus draws air upwardly through an inlet and processes the air through heat exchange elements before distributing the air downwardly. The air is preferably distributed downwardly by air discharge structure surrounding the heat exchange elements. The air is ultimately discharged through one or more air discharge ducts positioned relatively close to the air inlet. Each air discharge duct includes a rotatable louver mounted therein that in conjunction with the walls of the duct defines particular paths for the conditioned air in heating versus cooling.
