Methods and devices for rendering content are described herein. In some embodiments, the method may include receiving an email or other markup language based content. The method may create a document object model (DOM) corresponding to the content using an off screen browser. The method may cause the off screen browser to indicate that the DOM has been created before the off screen browser retrieves any external content. The method may extract a portion of the content from the DOM, and then render the portion of the content using predefined formatting rules.

Rendering based on a document object model

Methods and systems for enabling file attachments in a mobile calendar application are presented. In some embodiments, a mobile device may receive a message comprising an electronic calendar invitation and an electronic file attachment. The mobile device may generate an association between the electronic file attachment received in the message and a calendar event in an electronic calendar mobile application executing on the mobile computing device, wherein the calendar event is associated with the electronic calendar invitation. In response to receiving a selection to display the calendar event in the electronic calendar mobile application, the mobile device may generate a display of the calendar event comprising a display of the associated electronic file attachment in the electronic calendar mobile application.

One embodiment is directed to a method of providing access to cloud storage performed by a mobile computing device. The method includes (a) receiving a file-level access command to perform a file-level operation on a file of filesystem storage of the mobile computing device, the filesystem storage including remote storage provided by a remote storage platform and locally-cached storage provided by local storage, (b) evaluating whether the file-level access command is directed to a pre-determined portion of the filesystem provided by the remote storage platform, (c) in response to evaluating, if the file-level access command is directed to the pre-determined portion, then performing a synchronization operation to ensure that the file is stored on local storage in synchronization with the remote storage platform, and (d) fulfilling the file-level access command by accessing the local storage once the file is stored on local storage in synchronization with the remote storage platform.
