The invention is concerned with techniques and apparatus suitable for extraction of at least one valuable metal such as one or more of: gold, platinum, silver, cobalt, nickel, molybdenum, and manganese from a starting material which, by way of example, could be freshly mined mixed ore containing both oxidic and refractory (sulphide) ores.

Extraction of valuable metal by acid cyanide leach

Photosynthetic organisms are grown in a tube having a gas inlet at one end and a gas outlet at the other. The tube containing a rotor having vanes adapted to wipe the inside surface, the tube being disposed at an angle to the horizontal in a bath containing liquid, the gas inlet being lowermost.

Photoreaction

A rotary digester comprises a shell having means at one end for entry of material to be digested and, at the opposite end, a liquids outlet surrounded by a solids outlets. The solids outlet has a screw which assists in preventing egress of unwanted liquid with the solids.
