A fiber-optic communication apparatus includes first and second communication devices interconnected by an optical fiber cable. The first communication device converts one of a calibration signal with a predetermined power level and a radio frequency (RF) signal into an optical signal. The second communication device converts the optical signal, which is transmitted through the optical fiber cable, into an electrical signal, detects a power level of the electrical signal associated with the calibration signal, obtains a power attenuation ratio based on the power level detected thereby and the predetermined power level, and adjusts the power level of the electrical signal associated with the RF signal based on the power attenuation ratio.

The disclosure provides an expansion assembly configured to increase a transmitting distance of a MIMO system, the expansion assembly comprises N first RF front end units, N second RF front end units, a first power divider and combiner, and a second power divider and combiner. The first power divider and combiner connects with each of the first RF front end units, for delivering a first signal polarized in a first direction to the each of the first RF front end units. The second power divider and combiner connects with each of the second RF front end units, for delivering a first signal polarized in a first direction to the each of the second RF front end units. Accordingly, the first and second signal polarized in a second directions are capable of being transmitted in different directions, so as to implement the omni-directional transmission and increase the transmission distance.

Expansion assembly for MIMO system

A wireless communication system with multiple inputs and multiple outputs for simultaneously transmitting or receiving a plurality of sub-signals with a first direction of polarization or a second direction of polarization is disclosed. The system includes N antennas, an expansion module and N signal processors. The expansion module is connected to each of the antennas and each of the signal processors, to be selectively operated under a receiving mode or a transmitting mode, for integrating or allocating the sub-signal with the first direction of polarization corresponding to one of the antennas and the sub-signal with the second direction of polarization corresponding to another antenna, based on control signals provided by each of the signal processors. Accordingly, the system can expand the number of input and output interfaces by twice without additional and complete components for receiving or transmitting.
