Some embodiments include a system with a sensor with electrodes including an active electrode and a receiving electrode that is in physical contact with skin of a patient forming an electrical circuit with control electronics of a controller that can measure an electrical parameter using an active electrode and a receiving electrode within a closed loop electrical muscle stimulation system. A sense electrical pulse can be applied to the tissue using the sensor, an electrical parameter measured from the tissue, and a stimulation pulse applied to the tissue based at least in part on the measured electrical parameter. The stimulation is adjustably controlled by the controller to maintain a constant power output to the tissue based on the electrical parameter. A good is coupled to a computer readable medium configured to store usage data, the usage data relating to the patient's use of the good.

Patient therapy systems and methods

Embodiments of the invention provide a system and method for delivering stimulation therapy or relief to a patient. The system includes a stimulation electrode pair coupled to a good that can couple to a patient to deliver stimulation controlled through a wired or wireless link. The system includes a controller that can generate and apply a stimulation pulse to the stimulation electrode pair based on the stimulation program and the signal or data. The system includes a sensor coupled to the controller and the good, and a user interface enabling a user to remotely view or exchange information through the link, and to monitor and set or reconfigure the stimulation pulse. In some embodiments, the good includes a brace assembly that can be a brace, a stay, a sleeve, a sling, a garment, a wrap, or a strap.

A method for a system control to automatically provide highly reliable calculations and decisions based on information from sources of input whose timing is less than reliable. With application of the method in a familiar environment, the program optimally and automatically suspends the execution of decisions or calculations until such time as a reliable set of input conditions can be confirmed. The method allows the use of existing computer language constructs with no need to address time-lagging, random input or intermittent device operation. With the use of the method a system automatically gains high reliability.

The invention is a method for automatically determining the dialing sequence that is required for local, local long distance, ten digit local and long distance, long distance, and international dialing from an initial dialing database that contains no information about local telephone company dialing requirements and requires no or minimal human interaction. The method contains a database for logging call attempts, failures, and successes and an analysis algorithm to determine which dialing sequences are potentially failures and which are potentially successes and which are certain successes. Data from previous dialing attempts and analysis are used to determine dialing sequences for future calls to each area code and exchange. Each area code and exchange pair is quickly optimized without the need for purchasing or maintaining a third party dialing database and without manual definition of dialing sequences.

Automatic determination of dialing methods for stored uniformly formatted phone numbers

The present invention features a method for providing status information to a client based on data residing in an electronic database or e-file. The database of the information is maintained and updated, and is periodically analyzed to determine whether at least a portion of the data has changed since the last analysis or communication. If so, the client is automatically informed by the system, which initiates an automatic voice response (AVR) call out to the client. The client verifies that he or she is the true intended recipient of the status information before it is communicated. A log of this communication is also maintained by the system. The client has the opportunity to respond to the system AVR call and/or correct or provide additional information, the client voice response being stored in an appropriate voice mailbox.

An apparatus and method for pressurizing liquid contained within a single, food-grade container or a series of such containers from an external source of gas, and for drafting liquid from the container (s). CO.sub.2 may be used to carbonate liquids such as beer or soft drinks, or alternatively air or inert gases may be used in conjunction with non-carbonated liquids such as wine. According to a preferred embodiment the disclosed apparatus, which may be used with a single container or each one of a series of containers, comprises a cap screwed onto the container neck and a nipple assembly attached to the neck via the cap. The nipple assembly includes a body section and a plurality of nipples attached thereto. Each nipple has an outer portion protruding externally of the container, an inner portion disposed within the container and an interior flow passage extending through both portions. An annular seal is disposed so as to prevent fluid leakage between the body section and the container neck. The outer portions of each nipple are adapted to receive a tube which is fluidly coupled to either an external source of gas, a dispensing device, or a nipple of the apparatus attached to an adjacent container. The inner portion of one of the nipples is adapted to receive a draw tube immersed in the liquid. A check valve is optionally included and cooperates with the inner portion of at least one of the nipples to permit fluid flow into the container while preventing the escape of fluid through the corresponding nipple(s). According to an alternative embodiment, an apparatus and method is provided for creating a portable source of pressurized gas.
