A method and system for recording changes to programmable parameters in an implantable pulse generator. An executable program is stored in an implantable pulse generator. A parameter log is maintained in the implantable pulse generator, where the parameter log is used to record changes to the state of one or more programmable parameters of the executable program. When a change is detected in the state, from a first state to a second state, of the one or more programmable parameters the first state of the one or more programmable parameters changed to the second state are recorded in the parameter log. The parameter log is retrievable to allow for analysis of when and how changes took place to the executable program.

Change log for implantable medical device

A system and method for automatically adjusting the gain for a shock lead system in an implantable medical device is provided. The system and method operate when, after a pre-selected period of time, the gain has not been programmed. The system and method then automatically produce and set the gain for the shock lead system. The system and method poll and determine a maximum value for the output of the shock lead system amplifier and produce a new gain value to scale the output to facilitate providing useful data that is large enough to separate signal from noise but small enough to avoid clipping.

Automatic shock lead gain adjuster

A system and method for storing episodic data collected by an implantable medical device. If there are no unallocated storage locations, collected data associated with an episode is stored in locations that are freed from allocations to previous episodes. The least recently allocated of the storage locations allocated to episodes of a lower priority type may be freed first in order to maintain storage of higher priority episodic data. The method and system also allows a specified ratio of stored data allocated to episodes of one priority type to that of another priority type to be maintained.
