According to aspects of the disclosure, a method is provided for use in a sensor, the method comprising: detecting that a frequency of a first signal is in a first range, the first signal being generated, at least in part, by one or more first magnetic field sensing elements, the first signal being generated in response to a magnetic field that is associated with a rotating target, the rotating target including a plurality of pole pairs; identifying a first resolution that corresponds to the first range and causing the first resolution to become a current resolution of the sensor; and transmitting a data stream in accordance with the current resolution of the sensor, wherein transmitting the data stream includes: (i) transmitting a plurality of speed pulses that encode a speed of the rotating target, and (ii) transmitting a plurality of data pulse sets.

Dynamic resolution sensor

A sensor includes: a reference magnetic field generator configured to generate a reference magnetic field that is modulated at a first frequency, a first magnetic field sensing element that is configured to generate a first internal signal that is modulated at a second frequency, and a second magnetic field sensing element that is configured to generate a second internal signal that is modulated at the second frequency. A first amplifier is configured to receive the first internal signal and output a first amplified signal; and a second amplifier is configured to receive the second internal signal and output a second amplified signal. A gain adjustment circuit is configured to produce a gain adjustment signal and adjust a gain of at least one of the first amplifier and the second amplifier based on the gain adjustment signal.

Channel sensitivity matching

A tracking ADC with adaptive slew rate boosting can dynamically adjust one or more of its operational parameters in response to detecting a slew rate limit condition. In some embodiments, slew rate boosting can include increasing the value of a digital error signal in response to detection of a slew rate limit condition. In other embodiments, slew rate boosting can include increasing a clock frequency of the tracking ADC in response to detection of a slew rate limit condition.
