The subject matter described herein includes a camera sensor with event token based image capture and reconstruction. The sensor includes a photodetector for capturing light from a portion of a scene and for producing a signal indicative of the light. An integrator is coupled to the photodetector for accumulating charge resulting from the signal output by the photodetector and can be reset each time the charge reaches a predetermined level. An in-pixel processor is coupled to the integrator for resetting the integrator and generating an event token each time the predetermined level of charge is accumulated. A communication pipeline communicates the event tokens for downstream processing. A postprocessor is coupled to the pipeline for receiving the event tokens and for determining output intensity for the portion of the scene being reconstructed based on a number of reset events and a time between at least two of the event tokens.

Methods and systems for multiforce high throughput screening are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter includes a high throughput screening system that includes a multiforce plate having a plurality of field forming poles where each field forming pole is positioned on the multiforce plate at a location corresponding to a well in a multiwell plate. The system also includes an exciter assembly with excitation poles positioned at locations corresponding to the field forming poles. The excitation poles are utilized for electrically or magnetically coupling to the field forming poles and for delivering at least one of an electric and magnetic field in the vicinity of the field forming poles. The coupled field forming poles apply force via the field(s) to probes located in the wells of the multiforce plate in order to move the probes and test mechanical properties of specimens in the wells.

Methods and systems for controlling motion of and optically tracking a mechanically unattached probe () in three-dimensions are disclosed. A mechanically unattached magnetic probe () is placed in the system under test. The position of the probe is optically tracked in three dimensions by sensing light scattered by the probe and direct light from a light source. Magnetic poles () positioned about the probe are selectively magnetized to control motion of the probe in three dimensions by minimizing error between a sensed position and a desired position. In one implementation, the coil currents are time division multiplexed such that the average force on the probe produces motion in a desired direction.

Methods and systems for three-dimensional motion control and tracking of a mechanically unattached magnetic probe

Methods and systems for controlling motion of and tracking a mechanically unattached magnetic probe are disclosed. One system for controlling motion of mechanically unattached magnetic probe may include a magnetic coil and pole assembly. The magnetic coil and pole assembly includes at least one pole carrier. The pole carrier includes a light transmissive substrate and a plurality of magnetic poles being patterned on the substrate for applying force to a mechanically unattached magnetic probe. A magnetic drive core provides a return path for magnetic flux flowing between the poles. A plurality of magnetic coils are wound around the magnetic drive core for conducting current and applying magnetic force to the probe through the pole pieces. A computer maintains the position of the probe within a volume defined by an optical tracking system by moving the probe and the system under test.

Methods and systems for controlling motion of and tracking a mechanically unattached probe

Methods and systems for compensating magnetic current loops provide current magnitude and phase uniformity within the magnetic current loops. A magnetic current loop is divided into k sections. Each of the k sections has a series reactance. Series reactive compensation is added to each of the k sections such that the reactive compensation substantially cancels the series reactance of each section. Adding reactive compensation to the loop that cancels the series reactance of each section of the loop provides current magnitude and phase uniformity along the loop at any given instant in time. As a result, the magnitude and phase of the magnetic field at a point in space can be controlled with precision to achieve a desired result, such as precise field cancellation or precise field generation.

Methods and systems for reactively compensating magnetic current loops

A magnetic flux guiding apparatus comprises a conduit having a wall that comprises an electrically conducting material. An electrically insulating gap is formed in the wall along an entire length of the conduit. The electrically insulating gap prevents the conduit from having a closed electrical path that links any of the desired magnetic flux paths. For example, the electrically insulating gap can prevent the conduit from having a closed electrical path that surrounds a lengthwise axis of the conduit. The apparatus can also comprise a magnetic-field source that produces a magnetic flux that passes through an interior region bounded by the conduit. Where the conduit comprises a conventional electrically conducting material, the magnetic-field source can be a source of time-varying magnetic flux, such as an electrical coil. Where the conduit comprises an electrically superconducting material, the magnetic-field source can also be a source of time-varying magnetic flux or constant magnetic flux, such as a permanent magnet.

An automatic emergency and position indicator includes a trigger; a global positioning system receiver for receiving a plurality of global positioning system satellite signals; a processor, responsive to the global positioning system receiver, for providing global positioning system coordinates from the received global positioning system satellite signals; a geographic information system database coupled to the processor wherein the processor, in response to the global positioning system coordinates and the database, generates a local geographic position; and a transmitter, responsive to the trigger, for transmitting to a predetermined receiving station the local geographic position.
