A user equipment (UE) may transmit a UE capability message to a base station, the UE capability message including an indication of a UE type, the UE type associated with at least one of a reduced bandwidth, or a reduced number of antennas, or a combination thereof, for the UE. The UE may monitor, based at least in part on a control resource set that is based at least in part on the UE type, a control channel for a downlink grant for downlink resources. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the monitoring, a grant identifying the downlink resources for communicating with the base station. The UE may communicate with the base station using the identified downlink resources.

Physical downlink control channel resources for reduced capability user equipment

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may select a downlink control information (DCI) mode to be used by the UE, wherein the selected DCI mode is one of: a joint DCI mode in which a DCI for an uplink and a DCI for a downlink are monitored jointly, or a separate DCI mode in which one or more of the DCI for the uplink or the DCI for the downlink are monitored separately; and monitor at least one of the DCI for the uplink or the DCI for the downlink in accordance with the selected DCI mode. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a configuration indicating first resource elements (REs) reserved from being used for narrowband Internet of things (NB-IoT) transmissions in a subframe; determining second REs, in the subframe, for narrowband reference signals (NRSs), based on the configuration; and processing the NRSs on the second REs in the subframe.

Flexible random access channel configurations

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Some aspects relate to Layer 1 or Layer 2 triggered mobility (LTM) using groups of candidate cells. Some aspects more specifically relate to performing LTM operations, such as measurement, reporting, or switching, for cells of an activated group of candidate cells for LTM. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure an activated group of candidate cells in accordance with the activated group of candidate cells being activated. For example, the UE may not measure candidate cells that do not belong to an activated group of candidate cells. In some aspects, the activated group of candidate cells may include a subset of all candidate cells configured for the UE. For example, the UE may perform measurement and reporting for the subset of candidate cells, instead of all candidate cells configured for the UE.

Lower layer triggered mobility cell grouping

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive first control information indicative of a resource allocation for reception of periodic multi-slot multi-cast transmissions. In some aspects, the control information may indicate a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration for multi-cast, multi-slot signaling. The resource allocation may include a set of multiple reception occasions over a set of multiple slots. The UE may receive one or more transport blocks during the set of multiple reception occasions over the set of multiple slots. In some aspects, the UE may transmit feedback information for the one or more transport blocks.

Multi-cast multi-slot semi-persistent scheduling communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive first control signaling indicating a configuration associated with a target network node in a non-terrestrial network. The configuration may include a first UE-group configuration and a UE-specific configuration including integrity information for the first UE-group configuration. Managing group configurations in wireless communications systems

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently reporting channel state information (CSI) with limited overhead. In one aspect, if a user equipment (UE) is configured to transmit data and CSI to a base station periodically, the UE may transmit the CSI when the UE has data to transmit to the base station. In particular, the UE may transmit data and a CSI report during a transmission opportunity if the UE has data to transmit in the transmission opportunity. Otherwise, the UE may suppress transmission of the CSI report. In another aspect, a UE may be configured to transmit CSI to a base station when downlink channel conditions change. In particular, the UE may request to report CSI to the base station when channel conditions change, and the base station may trigger the UE to report the CSI after receiving the request.

Channel state information triggering for uplink dominant traffic

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit capability information indicating a capability of the UE to receive multicast communications while operating in an inactive state. The UE may receive, from a first cell, configuration information that indicates a common frequency resource (CFR) associated with receiving multicast communications from the first cell while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, from the first cell, multicast mobility information associated with receiving multicast communications from one or more neighboring cells while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, while operating in the inactive state, one or more multicast communications from at least one of the first cell or a second cell based at least in part on at least one of the configuration information or the multicast mobility information. Configuration of multicast reception and mobility for user equipment in an inactive state

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Described techniques provide for mitigating error in time or frequency adjustments for preambles of a random access procedure. A user equipment may use one value for the adjustment when transmitting data to a non-terrestrial network, but then transmit the preamble of a random access procedure according to a preamble-specific time or frequency adjustment based on one or more indications received from the network (e.g., rather than resetting the adjustment to '0'). By using some signaled value for the preamble-specific timing or frequency adjustment rather than resetting the adjustment to “0,” preamble reception performance may be maintained or improved with as many or fewer position measurements for the UE or non-terrestrial network entity.

Closed loop time and frequency corrections in non-terrestrial networks

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for identifying a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) independently of a channel quality indicator (CQI) table that is configured at a user equipment (UE). A rate matching parameter may be determined based on one or more of the MCS or CQI table, which may be used for dimensioning a soft buffer that is used to store received transmissions for decoding. The MCS field may be a six-bit field and may indicate an MCS that exceeds a highest MCS associated with the CQI table. The base station may activate a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration at the UE through an activation command, and the UE may verify that SPS is activated based on information in a number of different fields of control information which may include the MCS field.

Rate matching and semi persistent scheduling configuration in wireless communications

A method for wireless communication by a network node includes transmitting, to a group of user equipment (UEs), radio resource control (RRC) signaling to configure a function for enabling and disabling hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for a set of N instances of a multicast transport block (TB). The method also includes transmitting, to the group of UEs, the set of N instances of the multicast TB. The method further includes transmitting, to the group of UEs, a downlink control information (DCI) message on a group-common physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by a group-common radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) configured for the group of UEs. The method also includes receiving, from one or more UEs of the group of UEs, a HARQ feedback message associated with one or more instances of the set of N instances after transmitting all N instances.

Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback control for multicast communications

A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, multicast data via a multicast channel. The method also includes transmitting, to the base station, multicast feedback based on receiving the multicast data. In some examples, the multicast feedback is associated with a group of UEs including the UE. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, a re-transmission of the multicast data on the multicast channel or a unicast channel based on one or more of a number of UEs served by the base station, a number of UEs from the group of UEs providing the multicast feedback, or a radio channel condition.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a reference signal received power (RSRP) associated with a reference signal (RS) broadcast by a network.
