The present invention relates to dew resistant coatings and articles having the dew resistant coating adhered thereto. The dew resistant coatings comprise elongate silica particles. These coatings are useful on articles or surfaces used in outdoor applications and articles and surfaces used in moist indoor environments.

Dew resistant coatings

An improved label sheet assembly and application kit including an optional liner sheet, a carrier strip, and a removably attached label facestock sheet. The application kit further includes a stacked group of tabbed sheets and an alignment guide. The label facestock sheet assembly includes a plurality of cut lines defining a perimeter of a plurality of facestock labels spaced from one another in an offset manner that substantially corresponds to a set of staggered tabs extending outwardly from a stacked group of divider sheets. The carrier strip is defined by a plurality of cuts having substantially the same shape as a portion of the perimeters of the facestock labels, but with slightly smaller dimensions as its respective label. The user may separate the carrier strip from the liner sheet, exposing an adhesive back of the precut labels and place and align the carrier strip across the divider sheets such that the precut labels are placed on the tabs of the divider sheets. The user then pulls the carrier strip upwardly and away from the divider sheets such that a portion of each of the perimeters of the precut labels flexes to separate from the carrier strip and remain on the staggered tabs.

An adhesive construction, characterized by excellent converting and adhesive performance, comprises a facestock, a face-side adhesive (FSA) in contact with a first surface of the facestock, and a liner-side adhesive (LSA) in contact with the FSA. The FSA is compounded with an organopolysiloxane or modified organopolysiloxane. Single layer constructions, and multilayer constructions comprising more than two adhesive layers, and unique adhesive compositions, are also provided. The constructions can be run in high-speed converting presses and adhere well to a variety of substrates.

Adhesive compositions and constructions with outstanding cutting performance

An improved hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive (HMPSA) composition contains an elastomeric component, such as a blend of SIS and SB block copolymers, and a tackifying component comprising one or more intermediate softening point resins (ISPRs) having a ring and ball softening point of from 35 to 60&deg; C. The improved adhesive compositions are characterized by reduced volatility, less bleed and staining tendencies, and improved overall adhesive performance. The invention also provides improved label constructions in which a release liner is coated with an HMPSA composition and laminated to a flexible facestock. Notably, even when low basis weight paper facestocks are used, the construction can be converted at high speeds.
