A check valve cartridge for a fluid pump, the check valve cartridge including: a valve seat; a flap valve member seated on the valve seat, the flap member having a first portion movable toward and away from the valve seat; a bumper seated on the flap member, said bumper member for biasing the first portion of the flap valve member toward the valve seat. The check valve cartridge also including a stop member located on the bumper, between the stop member and the flap member; and fastening means for joining the base, flap member, bumper, and stop member to form the integral valve cartridge. The check valve cartridge is seated in a recess formed in the pump housing and is located between the pump housing and a flow manifold.

A bellows is comprised of a unitary body formed of relatively thin annular walls, open at one end and closed at the other. The walls are constructed and arranged as a spiral groove, whereby the bellows can be fabricated from plastic by injection molding in a relatively inexpensive fashion. The bellows can be formed of two layers joined to one another, a backup layer formed of metal or plastic and a protective layer formed of plastic such as PFA and PVDF.

A pulsation damper for a pumped liquid system has a housing with two axially identical hollow halves which, when joined at their flanges, form a substantially cylindrical cavity. Each housing half has a port on its longitudinal axis for fluid communication with a liquid chamber and a gas chamber defined by a flexible non-porous member. A pressurizing valve is provided, in a manual embodiment, for manually increasing or decreasing pressure in the gas chamber. An automatic pressure compensator is provided in an automatic embodiment and is so sized and configured as to be insertable and removable from the housing of the pulsation damper through the port on the end of housing. Provision is also made for modularly adding volumes of air to increase the effective gas chamber volume.

A valve assembly for fluid pressure regulation provides freedom from static pressure creep by eliminating distortions and stresses normally introduced to valve parts during assembly of the regulator. A floating valve seat permits normal installation of a valve seat housing in the regulator body with no transfer of stress or distortion to the valve seat. Thus statis pressure creep, normally attributable to micro distortions of the valve seat, is avoided. Options are also provided to install the floating valve seat directly in a regulator body without the valve seat housing.

A fluid pressure regulator provides features which enable an extended regulator life in high pressure service. Dual flexible diaphragms provide chemical resistance in contact with the working fluid and abrasion and fatigue resistance in contact with a backup plate and piston assembly. The backup plate has a bore which is sufficiently long and close fitting with the piston so that axial alignment is assured and there is minimal tendency for the piston to become cocked within the bore. Provision is also made for preventing fretting corrosion between the piston and the backup plate by coating at least one of the surfaces, if necessary, to assure that dissimilar metals only are in contact in that couple. Seals between the regulator housing body and the diaphragm and between the valve stem and diaphragm may be provided by resilient seal rings or by annular protrusions integrally formed on one or both of the diaphragms.
