A process for upgrading at least one of a Fischer-Tropsch naphtha and a Fischer-Tropsch distillate to produce at least one of a gasoline component, a distillate fuel or a lube base feedstock component. The process includes reforming a Fischer-Tropsch naphtha to produce hydrogen by-product and a gasoline component with a research octane rating of at least about 80. The process further includes upgrading a Fischer-Tropsch distillate using the hydrogen by-product to produce a distillate fuel and/or a lube base feedstock component.

A process is disclosed for passivating the reactivity of contaminant metals, such as nickel and vanadium, which have been deposited on a catalytic cracking catalyst, by adding to the cracking catalyst a mixture of a calcium-containing material and a magnesium-containing material in a separate reactor in the presence of steam. The preferred calcium-containing material is dolomite and the preferred magnesium-containing material is sepiolite. It is also preferred to include antimony and/or bismuth compounds in the additive mixture.

A process is disclosed wherein a naphtha feed is contacted in a reaction vessel with a dehydrocyclization catalyst comprising a large-pore zeolite containing at least one Group VIII metal to produce an aromatics product and a gaseous stream, the aromatics product is separated from the gaseous stream and is passed through a molecular sieve which adsorbs paraffins present in the aromatics product, then the gaseous stream is used to strip the paraffins from the molecular sieve, and the gaseous stream and the paraffins are recycled to the reaction vessel. Preferably, the dehydrocyclization catalyst comprises a type L zeolite containing from 8% to 15% by weight barium and from 0.6% to 1.0% by weight platinum, wherein at least 80% of the crystals of the type L zeolite are larger than 1000 Angstroms, and an inorganic binder selected from the group consisting of silica, alumina, and aluminosilicates.
